Magda Milady Castillo (born 30 May 1978) is a Honduran long-distance runner. In 2001, she competed in the women's marathon at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics held in Edmonton. [1]
In July 2001, Castillo competed in the half marathon at the 2001 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics. She finished in a tie for 5th place, running 1:24:03 hours alongside Kriscia García of El Salvador. [2]
Castillo was selected to represent Honduras at the 2001 World Championships in the marathon in August 2001. She ran 2:57:17 hours to finish 48th, setting the Honduran national record in the event. [3]
In November 2001, Castillo won the silver medal in the marathon at the 2001 Central American Games. She ran 3:07:05 hours hindered by altitude, finishing only behind Kriscia García. [4]
In 2004, Castillo set two more Honduran records at the Cuban National Olympiad in La Habana. On 23 April, she ran 4:38.77 minutes over 1500 metres to finish 8th and set the Honduran record. Two days later, she ran 17:58.96 in the 5000 metres to place 3rd, setting another Honduran national record. [3]
Castillo also competed in the 1500 at the Barrientos Memorial meeting in 2005, finishing 6th. [1]
