In a review for AllMusic, Mariano Prunes describes the album as "a sort of return to their roots by a band that was once truly original", but whose "unexpected international success has been unequivocally steering them in the direction of generic Latin pop". At the end of the review, Prunes commented: "In brief, Magistral is a good Miranda! album, not as inspired or creative as their first two efforts, but it is less uneven and less vapid than El Disco de Tu Corazón or Miranda Es Imposible! , but it is an effort that will ultimately neither add nor subtract much from their discography". Miranda! is an Argentine electropop band formed in Buenos Aires in 2001. Original band members include Alejandro Sergi, Juliana Gattas, Lolo Fuentes (guitar), Bruno de Vincenti (programming), and Nicolás Grimaldi (bass). It is currently a duo between Sergi and Gattas.
Blas Cantó Moreno is a Spanish singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member of the Spanish band Auryn. In 2017, he embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album Complicado was released in September 2018, the album peaked at number one on the Spanish Albums Chart. He was going to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, with the song "Universo" but the competition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He represented Spain instead in Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Voy a quedarme".
Cantora, un Viaje Íntimo is a double album by Argentine singer Mercedes Sosa, released on 2009 through Sony Music Argentina. The album features Cantora 1 and Cantora 2, the project is Sosa's final album before her death on October 4, 2009.

Jotdog is the debut studio album by Mexican group Jotdog. It was released on 2009 by Sei Track. The album is produced and arranged by Jorge "Chiquis" Amaro, with lead vocals by María Barracuda. The songs are mostly inspired by unrequited love, and deals with romantic relationships from different points of view. Musically, the album drew inspiration from '80s electropop and synthpop while incorporating dance music and clear hooks. The song was written by Sanz and produced by Miguel Angel Arenas and Emanuele Ruffinengo. The rock ballad carries a message of unrequited love and was inspired by a close friend of Sanz. The song received positive reactions from music critics who regarded it as one of his best songs. A music video for "Amiga Mía" features the artist performing on top of a building while the townspeople watch and his love interest leaves with her fiancé.

The album was primarily written and produced by Alejandro Sergi and Cachorro López, with further collaboration with Gabriel Lucena. Guest vocals include Spanish band Sidonie and Chilean musician Javiera Mena.
