Mahans Creek

Mahans Creek is a stream in southeastern Shannon County in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. [1] It is a tributary of Jacks Fork.

The stream headwaters are at 37°01′58″N91°24′27″W / 37.03278°N 91.40750°W / 37.03278; -91.40750 and the confluence with the Jacks Fork is at 37°09′10″N91°22′32″W / 37.15278°N 91.37556°W / 37.15278; -91.37556 . [1] The stream source area is northwest of Winona and it flows north along Missouri Route E past the community of Delaware. It then turns to the northeast and passes under Missouri Route 106 and joins the Jacks Fork just northwest of Eminence. [2]

A variant name was "Manans Creek". [1] Also spelled "Mahon Creek", the creek has the name of the local Mahon family. [3]

The community is located just south of the Shannon - Dent county line on the Current River, just north of the Big Creek confluence with the Current. It lies at the end of Missouri Route B, two miles east of the Shannon - Texas county line.

Delaware is an unincorporated community in eastern Shannon County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located on Mahans Creek approximately four miles southwest of Eminence.

Gladden Creek is a stream in Dent and Shannon counties in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It is a tributary of the Current River.

Jam Up Hollow is a valley in Shannon County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The intermittent stream of the valley is a small west flowing tributary of Pine Hollow about four miles southeast of Delaware on Mahans Creek. The source area for the hollow stream is at 37°04′29″N91°28′19″W and the confluence with Pine Hollow is at 37°04′59″N91°26′12″W.

Rector is an extinct town in northwest Shannon County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place. The community is located in Rector Hollow, which is a tributary to Gladden Creek approximately one mile to the west. It is on Missouri Route J two miles west of Missouri Route 19.

Big Creek is a stream in Shannon and Texas counties in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It is a tributary of the Current River.

Ebo Creek is a stream in Washington County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Fourche a Renault.
