Tulu is a Dravidian language whose speakers are concentrated in Dakshina Kannada and in the southern part of Udupi of Karnataka in south-western India and also in the northern parts of the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The native speakers of Tulu are referred to as Tuluva or Tulu people and the geographical area is unofficially called Tulu Nadu.
Dakshina Kannada district is located in the state of Karnataka in India, with its headquarters in the coastal city of Mangalore. It is part of the larger Tulu Nadu region. The district covers an area nestled in between the Western Ghats to its east and the Arabian Sea to its west. Dakshina Kannada receives abundant rainfall during the Indian monsoon. It is bordered by Udupi district to the north, Chikmagalur district to the northeast, Hassan district to the east, Kodagu to the southeast and Kasaragod district of Kerala to the south. According to the 2011 census of India, Dakshina Kannada district had a population of 2,083,625. It is the only district in Karnataka state to have all modes of transport like road, rail, water and air due to the presence of a major hub, Mangalore. This financial district is also known as the Cradle of Indian banking.

Kannur University is a multi-campus public university established in 1996 to provide development of higher education in Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad districts of Kerala, India. It serves the region of North Malabar. It was established after the passing of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. Udupi district is an administrative subdivision in the Karnataka state of India, with the district headquarters in the city of Udupi. The three northern tehsils of Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala, were partitioned from Dakshina Kannada district to form Udupi district on 25 August 1997. Moodabidri was officially declared as new tehsil (taluk), separated from Karkala with effect from 11 January 2018.

NSS Hindu College, Changanassery is one of the oldest and largest institutions of higher education of Nair Service Society (NSS) was established in 1947 by Indian social reformer and freedom fighter Sri. Bharatha Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan and is located on par with NSS Central Headquarters at Perunna, Changanassery. It is one of the sixteen Arts and Science colleges under the NSS and is the very first in terms of establishment. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of UGC with "A" grade. Its academics is a conglomerate of 14 Undergraduate, 11 Postgraduate and 10 Doctoral programmes over various disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce.
St. Paul's College, Kalamassery located at Kochi was founded by Joseph Attipetty, the late Archbishop of Verapoly to commemorate the historic visit of Pope Paul VI to India in connection with the 38th International Eucharistic Congress held in November - December 1964. The foundation stone of the college was blessed by the pope on 3 December 1964 and was solemnly laid by Samuel Mathai, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kerala in the presence of Joseph Attipetty on 13 February 1965. Out of his filial devotion to the Pope, the founder desired that the college be named after the Apostle Paul, the patron saint of the Pope.
