Ayer Keroh is a town situated in Melaka Tengah District, Malacca, Malaysia. It is the seat of the state government since 2006, being the home of the state secretariat building complex – Seri Negeri complex and one of a few towns which formed the Hang Tuah Jaya municipality.

Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS), formerly known as the Saad Foundation College, was established by Tan Sri Halim Saad as a private, entirely residential institution in 1995. It was built as a tribute to his late father. The school is located in Ayer Keroh, Malacca. In both the Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams, the school is popularly known for achieving outstanding outcomes. Additionally, the school is also known for its wide variety of co-curricular activities such as rugby, netball, swimming,triathlon, orchestra and also debate. The school only accepts scholars who demonstrate merit. Students who want to be admitted into this school submit their applications online, where their applications has to go through stringent selection process that takes into account their academic standing, potential for leadership, and extracurricular engagement. Only roughly 100 slots countrywide are available out of about 5000 submissions. about 100 spots are offered for the Form 1 batch yearly. Half of these spots are set aside for scholars from lowly socio-economic environments where they are funded by local GLCs or organisations such as Axiata Foundation and Yayasan Khazanah. The school fee averages at around RM40,000 yearly

Malacca Zoo, officially the Malacca Zoo and Night Safari, is a 54-acre (22 ha) zoological park located beside Lebuh Ayer Keroh in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia, which hosts more than 1200 animals including 215 species of birds, amphibians, reptiles, mammals. It is the second-largest zoo in Malaysia behind the National Zoo of Malaysia, both were established in 1963. The zoo acts as both a rescue base and an animal sanctuary and was initially owned by the Malacca State Government, but its management was taken over by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks of Malaysia in 1979 and later opened to the public by the then Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammad on 13 August 1987.

The MBMB main headquarters is located at Graha Makmur in Ayer Keroh, just outside its area of jurisdiction and opposite that of Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council at Melaka Mall.

The Democratic Government Museum is a museum about the development and practice of parliamentary democracy, which is located at St. Paul's Hill in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. The museum was formerly the Malacca State Legislative Assembly building, which had moved to Ayer Keroh as its present location since February 2000, in which its foundation stone was laid on 13 August 1961.
Melaka Planetarium, officially Melaka Planetarium Adventure Science Centre, is a planetarium located at Melaka International Trade Centre business district in the town of Ayer Keroh, in the Malaysian state of Malacca. It was officiated by Malacca State Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam on 10 August 2009, and is the second planetarium in the state after the Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex in Masjid Tanah. The planetarium features Islamic architecture and a landing UFO, costing MYR20 million to be built over an area of 0.7 hectares and 3 floors. It consists of four sections, which are astronomy, outer space, simulation, and physics, and exhibits the magnificent cosmos, history of astronomy and astronomers and also various other attractions.

The Aborigines Museum is a museum in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia, which showcases the native people relics found in the country. It was originally located inside Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest, but later relocated to its present area along Lebuh Ayer Keroh in December 1996 and went under the management of Malacca Museum Corporation. The museum was reopened on 3 February 1997.
Malacca Bird Park is an aviary in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia, which was opened on 23 March 2013. It is the largest bird park in Asia, with a total area of 2.02 hectares. The exterior of the bird park resembles a downscaled stadium with greenery and parrot perched model on the welcoming sign.
Melaka Crocodile Farm, officially Melaka Crocodile and Recreational Park is a privately-run crocodile farm and zoo in the town of Ayer Keroh, in the Malaysian state of Malacca. Established in July 1987, it is the largest crocodile farm in Malaysia, expands over an area of 3.5 hectares of reserved forest land in the town. Though mainly exhibits crocodiles, the farm also hosts other reptile species such as snakes, tortoise, turtles and terrapins and animal species such as birds and mammals.
Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is a privately-run zoo in Ayer Keroh in the Malaysian state of Malacca which was opened in 1991 as a butterfly house and built over a 11-hectare of jungle area of the town. It mainly exhibits butterflies and reptiles, but also host other animal species such as amphibians, birds, fishes and insects.
Ayer Keroh is a state constituency in Malacca, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Malacca State Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1986, from 1995 to present.
Khoo Poay Tiong is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Melaka since May 2018. He served as Leader of the Opposition of Melaka from July 2013 to May 2018 and Member of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ayer Keroh from March 2008 to May 2018. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. He has served as the Assistant National Organising Secretary of DAP since November 2017.
