Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary (MSOTS) is run by the Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, with an ecumenical outlook. [1] The Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary: a venture in union theological training in South India, MSOTS is affiliated to the Senate of Serampore College (University), West Bengal. MSOTS is located in Vettickal, Mulanthuruthy in Ernakulam, Kerala. [2]

Administration

The seminary is under the supervision of H.H. Moran Mor Ignatius Aprem II, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, controlled by H.B. Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I Catholicos, the Episcopal Committee and guided by H.E. Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose Metropolitan. Besides the Seminary is a registered charitable society functioning according to a written registered constitution. The Seminary is affiliated to the Serampore University and after completion of the course the candidates are eligible to get a valid theological degree (BD).

Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) is a theological seminary in Pune, India. It was established in 1953 and initially located in Yavatmal, before relocating to Pune in 1983. It is affiliated with the Senate of Serampore College (University).

Abraham George Kallarakkal is an Old Testament Biblical scholar with major contribution to Old Testament research. Kallarakkal is well-versed in Hebrew and Peshitto and researched at the University of Hamburg under Klaus Koch and Manfried Dietrich.

He received his first four orders of ordination on November 11, 1995, the fifth order on May 27, 1997 and became a full deacon on June 7, 1999. He was ordained as priest on August 6, 1999 by H. E. Mor Clemis Abraham, the Chief Metropolitan of the East.
