The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Malay : Perbadanan Pembangunan Perdagangan Luar Malaysia; officially abbreviated as MATRADE) is a Malaysian external trade government agency. Its key role is to assist Malaysian exporters to develop and expand their export markets. The agency was established under the MATRADE Act 1992 in March 1993 as a statutory agency and external trade promotion arm under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI). MATRADE is also the owner and operator of the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) which was opened in January 2007. [3] Tan Sri Dr. Halim Mohammad served as the 7th Chairman of MATRADE from 2004 to 2010 and effective 1 January 2019. [4] Reezal Merican Naina Merican has served as the 9th Chairman of MATRADE since May 2023. [5]

MATRADE is under the administration of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia and established in March 1993 under the MATRADE Act 1992 and responsible to promote and execute trade initiatives in Malaysia [2] and helping Malaysian companies and enterprises to achieve success in the international market. [6]

Japan External Trade Organization is an Independent Administrative Institution established by Japan Export Trade Research Organization as a nonprofit corporation in Osaka in February 1952, reorganized under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1958, and became an Independent Administrative Institution in 2003 to consolidate Japan's efforts in export promotion. The government has provided more than half of JETRO's annual operating budget. As of January 2020, JETRO maintained seventy-four offices in fifty-four countries, as well as forty-eight regional offices in Japan, with a total staff of 1,730. Its main office is located in the Ark Mori Building in Akasaka, Tokyo. Initially, JETRO's activities focused mainly on promoting exports to other countries. As exporters established themselves in world markets and the balance of trade turned from deficit to surplus, however, JETRO's role shifted to encompass more varied activities. These have included the furtherance of mutual understanding with trading partners, strategic investment attraction, import promotion, liaison between small businesses in Japan and their overseas counterparts, and data dissemination. Import promotion services have included publications, promotion of trade fairs, seminars, and trade missions.

He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He is also the Group Managing Director of the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), and is the First Malaysian elected to the Board of Director, World Trade Centers Association (WTCA). Reezal Merican bin Naina Merican is a Malaysian politician and banker who has served as 9th Chairman of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) since May 2023 and Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bertam since August 2023. He served as the Minister of Housing and Local Government in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022, the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kepala Batas from the retirement of 5th and former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as the MP from politics in May 2013 to his electoral defeat in November 2022. He is also a member and Division Chief of Kepala Batas of the Supreme Council of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition and one of the only two Penang BN and UMNO MLAs alongside MLA for Sungai Acheh Rashidi Zinol. He has also served as Chief of the Elections Department of UMNO since March 2023. He is an ethnic Malay of mixed Indian descent.

Establishment in 1986, the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) has been the leading voice of Malaysian and Australian business. Supported by its co-patrons, the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry and the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, the MABC plays a critical role in advancing bilateral trade and investment while providing a range of services to its members based both in Malaysia and Australia.

The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) was established by the Malaysian Ministry of Health in 2005. MHTC is responsible in advocating for the medical tourism industry in Malaysia. In 2011, MHTC was incorporated as an independent entity to coordinate Malaysia's healthcare travel sector.
