Commonwealth Youth Games appearances

Malaysia competed at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago, from 4 to 11 August 2023. It is Malaysia's 7th appearance at the Commonwealth Youth Games. Malaysia is represented by the Olympic Council of Malaysia, which is responsible for Malaysian participation in the multi-sport events, including Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games. Malaysian delegation consisted of 14 athletes competed in three different sports— athletics, cycling, and swimming. [1] [2] [3]

The Commonwealth Games is a quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the IV Commonwealth Youth Games, and commonly known as Isle Of Man 2011, is a multi-sport event which took place from 7 to 13 September 2011 in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man. As per the original quadrennial cycle, the Games were scheduled for 2012. However, the Commonwealth Games Federation at its general assembly in 2005 decided to move the Games within one year before the Summer Olympics. The Bowl Stadium at the National Sports Centre, Douglas staged the opening ceremony on 7 September 2011. The closing ceremony was held on Douglas Promenade & the Villa Marina on 13 September.

He trained under the coaching of Yang Zhuliang. Lomas is named after the footballer Bryan Robson by his father.

Malaysia participated in the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games held in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man from 7 to 13 September 2011. Their participation marked their fourth Commonwealth Youth Games appearance, one of the highest among the Commonwealth of Nations. Malaysia was represented by the Olympic Council of Malaysia, which is responsible for Malaysian participation in the multi-sport events, including Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games. Malaysian delegation consisted of 18 athletes competed in four different sports— athletics, badminton, cycling, and swimming. This was an increase in the number of athletes from the nation's last appearance at the Games, when 10 athletes were sent to the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune. Malaysia dominated in the badminton events, winning all but one of the five gold medals on offer, the only other gold was won by P. V. Sindhu of India in women's singles. All the medals came from badminton.

Taylor Worth is an Australian archer competing in recurve events. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the men's team event, a gold medal at the United States Open and at the 2008 World Youth Archery Championships in the under-18 men's team recurve event. Worth represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Men's Individual competition, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio won a bronze medal alongside Alec Potts and Ryan Tyack in the men's team archery. He represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Datuk Leong Mun Yee is a retired Malaysian diver. She competed at the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics with the best result of seventh place in the 10 m synchronised platform event in 2012. Her appearance at the 2008 Summer Olympics made her the first Malaysian diver to compete at three Olympics. The bronze medal that she and Pandelela Rinong won at the 2009 World Championships was the first World Championship medal for Malaysia.

Jazmin Sawyers is a British track and field athlete and sports presenter who competes in the long jump. She has also competed as a bobsledder and a heptathlete. Sawyers won the silver medal in the long jump at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She claimed silver and bronze at the 2016 and 2022 European Championships respectively. She won her first major senior title at the 2023 European Indoor Championships. Sawyers earned silver at the 2015 European Under-23 Championships.

Chow Mei Kuan is a Malaysian retired badminton player. She started playing badminton at the age of 7 in her primary school. Chow made a debut in the international senior tournament in 2012. She won gold medals at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the girls' and mixed doubles event. Chow competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast and won the women's doubles event with Vivian Hoo Kah Mun.

Jeffrey Webb is a Malaysian alpine ski racer. He represented Malaysia at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. As the first Malaysian to qualify, he was one of the first to compete for Malaysia at the Winter Olympics. He also competed in the 2017 Asian Winter Games.

Malaysia first participated at the Youth Olympic Games in 2010, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Youth Olympic Games. Malaysia made their debut at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2016.

Ng Tze Yong is a Malaysian badminton player. Ng won a bronze medal in the 2021 Sudirman Cup. He also helped his team to win gold at the Badminton Asia Team Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
