Malin Hansen-Hotopp (born 30 December 1977) is a German equestrian.

Early life

She was brought up in Maasbüll in Schleswig-Holstein. She competed in the German Pony Championship for the first time in 1992. She studied agriculture in Rostock and Kiel. [1]

Career

She became European team champion in 1996 in the under-21 age group. [2]

She won the 2022 Blenheim Horse Trials, competing in Britain for the first time, on Bodil Ipsen’s Carlito’s Quidditch K. They led the competition after the dressage, and jumped clear with only time faults. [3] She was part of the German team which won the FEI Nations Cup event in Haras du Pin in August 2022. [4]

She was a silver medalist in the team eventing at the 2023 European Eventing Championships in Haras du Pin on Carlitos Quidditch K in her senior championship debut. [5]

Personal life

Her father Klaus Hansen was an event trainer and trained future Olympic gold medalist Peter Thomsen. [6] She is married to Thomas Hotopp and has three sons named Jasper, Frode and Jarne. They live in Gransebieth in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. [1]

A serious fall in 2015 left him in a coma for two weeks, but he came back to make the British eventing team and attend the 2016 Summer Olympics. Chris Bartle was a member of the British Dressage Team from 1981 to 1987 and was placed 6th in individual dressage in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. From 2001 to 2016, together with Hans Melzer, he was the German Three Day Eventing National Team Trainer. Shruti Vora is an Indian equestrienne. She represented India at the 2022 FEI World Championships held at Herning, Denmark. Vora and Anush Agarwalla were the first Indians to compete in an individual dressage event at the Dressage World Championships, where Vora scored scored 64.53% astride 16-year Indian-bred Denightron. Vora qualified for the World Championship at Hagen in June 2022 and represented India at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon.
