Malkit Singh Keetu was an Indian politician,and a member of Shiromani Akali Dal. He served as member of legislative assembly from Barnala twice (1997,2002). On 29 October 2012,Keetu was murdered at age of 65 in a family feud. [1] [2]

Malkit Singh,MBE is an England-based Punjabi bhangra singer. Born in Hussainpur and raised in Nakodar,he moved to Birmingham in 1984. He is most famous for the songs "Gur Nalo Ishq Mitha","Tootak Tootak Tootiyan","Kurri Garam Jayee","Dekh li vilyait","Chal Hun",and "Jind Mahi",the latter two from the soundtrack to the popular film Bend It Like Beckham.

Ravidassia or the Ravidas Panth is a religion based on the teachings of Guru Ravidas. It was considered a sect within Sikhism until 2009. The counting of votes declaration of results was done on 10 March 2022. The Fifteenth Punjab assembly was dissolved on 11 March 2022. The dissolution was necessitated after the results of the election was declared on 10 March. In the Sixteenth Punjab Legislative Assembly,92 members of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party form the treasury benches. The main opposition party in the assembly is Indian National Congress with 18 seats. The other parties which are in opposition are the Shiromani Akali Dal,the Bharatiya Janata Party,the Bahujan Samaj Party and independents. AAP MLA,Kultar Singh Sandhwan was announced as the speaker of the assembly.
