Faizabad is a city located in Ayodhya district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on the southern bank of the River Saryu about 6.5 km from Ayodhya City, the district headquarter, 130 km east of the state capital Lucknow. Faizabad was the first capital of the Nawabs of Awadh and has monuments built by those Nawabs, like the Tomb of Bahu Begum, Gulab Bari. It was also the headquarters of Faizabad district and Faizabad division before November 2018. Faizabad is a twin city of Ayodhya and it is administered by Ayodhya Municipal Corporation.

These neighborhoods reflect British architecture like the All Saints Cathedral, Alfred Park and Allahabad High Court. Newer residential areas include neighborhoods like Kareli and suburbs like Naini Jhunsi and Manauri bajar.

The Prayagraj–Jabalpur section is a railway line connecting Prayagraj and Jabalpur. This 366 km (227 mi) track is part of the Howrah–Prayagraj–Mumbai line. The main line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway and West Central Railway.

Prayagraj Chheoki Junction railway station, formerly Allahabad Chheoki railway station, is one of the major railways stations located in Prayagraj district. Chheoki is at a distance of 10 km from Prayagraj Junction on the Howrah–Delhi main line. Trains that bypass Prayagraj Junction and which come from Jabalpur and go towards Mughalsarai usually stop at Chheoki. To reduce the load on the main junction, trains were shifted to Chheoki. Chheoki has three platforms that are high-level platforms and one UTS.

Phaphund railway station is an "A" graded railway station in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Its code is PHD. It serves Auraiya district and Dibiyapur city. It is located on the Kanpur–Delhi section of Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. Built during British rule, the station is owned by Indian Railways and operated by North Central Railway and consists of five tracks and four platforms.
Prayag Junction railway station is an important railway station in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh. It serves Prayag town in Prayagraj. It consists of three platforms. The NR is developing the neighbouring Prayagraj Sangam station as a coaching terminal. It is designed by architect M K Singh in the year 2018. There will be five new platforms, two washing lines, and a new station building with a basement.
Subedarganj railway station is an important railway station in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh. Its code is SFG. It serves Prayagraj city. Railways has sanctioned a budget of ₹26 crore as part of its plan to develop the Subedarganj station, situated close to the North Central Railway headquarters in Prayagraj, as a full-fledged terminal, Minister of State, Manoj Sinha said. A new FOB will be completed by November. Prayagraj's neighbouring Subedarganj is being developed as terminal station with a provision of a new platform, new FOB, and extension of the existing platform.
