Manchu Manoj Kumar (born 20 May 1983) is an Indian actor who works in Telugu films. He first appeared at the age of ten as a child artist in Major Chandrakanth . He made his film debut in a leading role with Donga Dongadi in 2004. He received the state Nandi Special Jury Award for his performance in box-office success Bindaas (2010). He also starred in Vedam (2010), Potugadu (2013), and Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda (2014).

Early life

Manchu Manoj was born on 20 May 1983, [2] [3] to film actor Mohan Babu and Nirmala Devi. [4] He has two elder paternal half-siblings, Lakshmi, and Vishnu, who are both actors and producers. [5]

Career

1993-1998

Manoj worked as a child actor in movies starring his father Mohan Babu and is shown in flashbacks.

2004–present

He started his career as a hero in 2004 with a movie called Donga Dongadi . In 2005, he appeared in the movie Sri and next in Raju Bhai in 2007. His movie Nenu Meeku Telusa? was an average grosser, but was known for its melodious music. In 2009, his first movie Prayanam , under the direction of Chandra Sekhar Yeleti did moderately well. His first movie in 2010, Bindaas , turned out to be the biggest hit of his career. Another movie in 2010, Vedam , was a critical and commercial success. He gained accolades for his role in Vedam . In 2012, he starred in Mr. Nookayya and Uu Kodathara? Ulikki Padathara? . In March 2013, he announced 5 films. [6] His subsequent releases were Potugadu , Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda and Current Theega . [7] After taking a long break from films, on 20 January 2023, Manchu Manoj announced his first film in 6 years titled What The Fish directed by Vishnu and produced by Six Studios. [8] [9]

Personal life

In May 2015, Manoj married his girlfriend Pranathi Reddy. [10] In 2017, Manoj started a foundation called Manoj Kumar's Unity to collect funds for the development of farmers. [11] He remarried on 3 March 2023 to the youngest daughter of Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Shobha Nagi Reddy, Bhuma Mounika, both former Members of the Legislative Assembly. [12] Mounika has a 5–6 years old son from her previous marriage. [13] On 13 April 2024, Manoj and Mounika announced that they were blessed with a baby girl. [14] . On December 2024, Manoj had long dispute with his father over properties. [15]

Tanish is an Indian actor and television personality known for his lead roles in very Low budget, small Telugu films. He has starred in films such as Nachavule, Ride, Telugabbai, Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda, and Nakshatram. He has also kickstarted a television career, as he was one of the contestants on the reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu 2, which was hosted by noted Telugu star Nani. <i>Potugadu</i> 2013 Indian film

Potugadu (transl. Hero) is a 2013 Indian Telugu language film directed by Pavan Wadeyar. It is a remake of the 2012 Kannada film Govindaya Namaha, also directed by Wadeyar with starring Komal. It was produced by Sirisha and Sridhar under the Ramalakshmi Cine Creations banner. The film has four heroines, Sakshi Chowdhary, Simran Kaur Mundi, Rachel and Anupriya Goenka. Achu scored the music, and two tunes from the Kannada film - including the "Pyarge Aagbittaite" - were used in the Telugu version. The shooting was wrapped up in a single extensive schedule and the post-production work was simultaneously in progress. Reportedly Potugadu was going to be the biggest movie in terms of budget in Manoj's career. The film released on 14 September 2013 and was declared a 'semi-hit' at the box office.

<i>Rowdy</i> (2014 film) 2014 film by Ram Gopal Varma

Rowdy is a 2014 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It stars Vishnu Manchu and his father Mohan Babu with Jayasudha and Shanvi Srivastav in important roles. Sai Karthik composed the music for this film, while Satish Mutyala handled the cinematography. The principal photography commenced on 26 December 2013 and ended on 21 February 2014 in 30 working days. It was dubbed into Hindi by the same name.

Dongaata is a 2015 Telugu-language crime comedy film, directed by Vamsy Krishna, with the screenplay written by Mohan Bharadwaj and Vamsy Krishna. The dialogues were written by Sai Madhav Burra. It stars Lakshmi Manchu and Adivi Sesh, with Brahmanandam, Madhunandan, and Prabhakar in pivotal roles. The film was released in May 2015 to positive reviews. Manchu produced the film on her Manchu Entertainment banner.

It stars Mohan Babu and Meena in lead roles, while Dasari Narayana Rao, Gollapudi Maruti Rao, Annapoorna, Brahmanandam and Babu Mohan played other pivotal roles. The film is a remake of the Hindi film Krantiveer.
