The CineMAA Awards are presented annually by the Maa TV Group to honour artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Telugu Cinema. [1] [2] The awards were introduced in 2004. The CineMAA Awards are voted for by both the public and a committee of experts as per meritocracy. [3] [4]

Contents

Each year one Life Time Achievement Award is presented to one of the accomplished veterans from the Industry. [5] The award ceremony is telecasted live over MAA TV from the Hyderabad International Convention Center of the Novotel Group in Hyderabad. [6] In 2013, Telugu cinema category, for Best Actor and Actress was introduced for the first time. [7]

In a film career spanning over four decades, he won the Andhra Pradesh state's highest film award, the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, three Nandi Awards, and nine Filmfare Awards, Telugu. In 2006, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, simply known as Balakrishna or Balayya or NBK, is an Indian actor, producer and politician. He won three Nandi Awards and one South Indian International Movie Award. He is an elected member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Hindupuram constituency since 2014.

She has also acted in a few Kannada and Malayalam-language films. She won three Nandi Awards and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

Meka Srikanth is an Indian actor who is known for works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has appeared in more than 120 films. The actor has received one state Nandi Award, and one Filmfare Award South. He has starred in films like Swarabhishekam, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for 2004. Srikanth's another film Virodhi premiered at the Indian panorama section, at the 2011 International Film Festival of India. Sri Rama Rajyam also had a special screening at International Film Festival of India on 28 November 2011. He has also appeared in some other language films including Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil films.

<i>Nijam</i> 2003 Indian film

Nijam (transl.Truth) is a 2003 Indian Telugu-language action film written, directed and produced by Teja on Chitram Movies banner. The film stars Mahesh Babu, Rakshita, Gopichand, and Raasi, with music was composed by R. P. Patnaik. Babu and Rameshwari won the Nandi Awards in Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories respectively. It was remade in Odia as Arjuna and in Bangladesh as Top Leader.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Filmfare Awards South</span> South Indian segment of Filmfare Awards

Filmfare Awards South is the South Indian segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Indian film industry encompassing four languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. They were introduced in 1954, around the films released in 1952-53 and Filmfare Awards initially recognizing the Hindi film industry. In 1964 awards were extended in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi, around the films released in 1963. The inclusion of the Malayalam cinema in the awards came in 1967 while Kannada cinema was recognized in 1970. Each industry is given its own set of creative awards in annual ceremonies that have predominantly been held in Hyderabad and Chennai. Before 1976, the Awards ceremony was held in Mumbai along with Hindi awards. From 1976, Southern region film awards were separated from Hindi and moved to Chennai. Kamal Haasan and Uday Kiran hold the record for being the youngest to win the Best Actor award.

Kunath Venu Madhav was an Indian actor, television presenter, mimicry artist and comedian known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was one of the finest comedians in the Telugu cinema, he starred in some 500 films in a variety of roles, starting his career as an impressionist; imitating celebrities, politicians, and local dialects. He received breakthrough in cinema with works such as Master (1997), and Tholi Prema (1998).

Rajasekhar Varadharajan is an Indian actor known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema. In a career spanning more than thirty-eight years, he has acted in over eighty films in a variety of roles. He starred in several notable films, including Talambralu, Sruthilayalu, Aahuti, Ankusam, Magaadu, Allari Priyudu, Anna, Omkaram, Suryudu, Sivayya, Manasunna Maaraju, Maa Annayya, Simharasi, Evadaithe Nakenti, Gorintaku, and PSV Garuda Vega. Rajasekhar won two Filmfare Best Actor Awards - Telugu for the Magaadu and Anna.

Satya Krishnan is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Telugu films. She was born in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. She worked as a hotel management professional and entered the film industry with the film Dollar Dreams. Mostly starring in supporting roles, she is probably best known for her performance as Anitha in the 2004 Sekhar Kammula-directed Telugu film Anand.

K. K. Senthil Kumar is an Indian cinematographer who works in Telugu cinema. He is known for his frequent collaborations with S.S. Rajamouli. He graduated with a degree in cinematography from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He made his debut as a cinematographer with the sitcom TV series Amrutham. He made his film debut with Aithe (2003) which brought him recognition.

Suma Kanakala is an Indian television presenter, actress, and television producer who predominantly works in Telugu television. She is best known for hosting ETV's Star Mahila – a Telugu TV game show, which is the longest-running TV game show in India and ran for exactly 12 years.

Sri Venkateswara Creations is an Indian film production company based in Hyderabad. It is established by Dil Raju in 2003. Raju has produced several Telugu films on this banner. The company also has a subsidiary film distribution business named 'Sri Venkateswara Film Distributors'.

Pulagam Chinnarayana is an Indian Telugu cinema journalist, author, film critic, lyricist, dialogue writer and a public relations officer. He started his career as a film journalist for the magazines Sivaranjani, Number One, Chitram, Santhosham. Later, he worked for Sakshi for eight years where he reached a level of in-charge from being a regular reporter. He authored various Telugu books on Telugu Cinema like Jandhya Marutham, Aanaati Aanavaallu, Cine Poornodayam, Svarnayuga Sangeetha Darshakulu, Pasidi Thera, Cinema Venuka Storeelu, Maya Bazar Madhura Smruthulu and " Vendi Chandamamalu ". He won Nandi Award for Best Book on Telugu Cinema from Andhra Pradesh state Government twice for his books Aanaati Aanavaallu and Pasidi Thera in 2009 and 2015 respectively. He also won Nandi Award for Best Critic in 2014.
