Sangita Madhavan Nair is an Indian actress, who has worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada film industries, predominantly in the 1990s.
The actress is best known for her role as Shyamala in Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala , which was written and directed by Sreenivasan, for which she has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress. [1] She is also well known for her role of Nirmala Mary in actor Vijay's breakthrough film Poove Unakkaga (1996). [2]
She started her career as a child artiste in the movie Snehikkan Oru Pennu , a Malayalam movie released in 1978. Her debut film as a child artist in Tamil was En Rathathin Rathame , which is the Tamil remake of Hindi movie Mr. India . The first film she acted as a heroine was Ellame En Rasathan in 1995.
She was born as the youngest among four children, to Madhavan Nair from Kottakkal, Malappuram and mother, Padma from Kuzhalmannam, Palakkad, settled in Chennai. Her father migrated to Chennai for fruit business and the family settled there. She had her primary education from Sri Gujarati Vid Matriculation School, Chennai. [3] She has two sisters, Mallika and Charu and a brother, Nitheesh. [4] Her brother portrayed a supporting role in her unreleased film, Punniyavathi.[ citation needed ]
She married cinematographer S. Saravanan in 2000 and retired from acting after marriage. The couple have a daughter Saai Thejaswathy born in 2002. She assisted her husband when he directed his first film, Silambattam starring Silambarasan, Sana Khan and Sneha. [5] [6]

Sreenivasan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, director, dubbing artist and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. Sreenivasan has starred in over 225 films. Sreenivasan wrote the screenplays of films such as Odaruthammava Aalariyam (1984), Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam (1986), Gandhinagar 2nd Street (1986), Nadodikkattu (1987), Pattanapravesham (1988), Varavelpu (1989), Thalayanamanthram (1990), Sandesam (1991), Midhunam (1993), Mazhayethum Munpe (1995), Azhakiya Ravanan (1996), Oru Maravathoor Kanavu (1998), Udayananu Tharam (2005), Katha Parayumpol (2007), and Njan Prakashan (2018) among which the latter is one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. He has won two Kerala State Film Awards for Best Screenplay, for Sandesam and Mazhayethum Munpe.
Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala is a 1998 Malayalam black comedy film written and directed by Sreenivasan, starring Sangita, Sreenivasan, Thilakan, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, Sudheesh, and Siddique.The film is about an irresponsible husband and his neglected family. It won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. The film is one of the classic family dramas in Malayalam. The film was remade in Tamil as Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy and in Telugu as Aavide Shyamala.
Malabar Gopalan Sreekumar, better known as M.G. Sreekumar is an Indian playback singer, composer, music producer, television presenter and film producer, who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He has sung more than 2000 songs in various Indian languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Sanskrit.
