Yanamandra Venkata Subrahmanya Sharma (born 11 July 1964), [1] [2] known professionally as Mani Sharma, is an Indian composer and music producer known primarily for his work in the Telugu and Tamil film industries; he has also worked on Hindi and Kannada films. [3] [4]
Mani Sharma was born Yanamandra Venkata Subrahmanya Sharma on 11 July 1964 in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, [5] [6] and grew up in Chennai. His father was a violinist who played with composer and music producer Saluru Rajeswara Rao. [1]
Sharma began his career programming under S. Rajeswara Rao and other composers including Ramesh Naidu and M. M. Keeravani. Film director Ram Gopal Varma had him compose the background music for Raathri and Antham (both 1992), plus a song for Antham. As music director, he has worked on several films with producer Ashwini Dutt, starting with Super Heroes. [7] As of July 2023 [update] he has been music director on more than 200 films, for the most part Telugu but also including 25 Tamil productions and several in Kannada. [1] His first hit was Preminchukundam Raa (1997); [2] Choodalani Vundi and Samarasimha Reddy in particular have been highly successful. [7] He has also collaborated on albums with many actors, including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan. [2]
His works are noted for integrating Indian with Western classical instrumentation. [2] He is sometimes known as Melody Brahma and Swara Bramha. [2]

Ghantasala Venkateswararao, known mononymously by his surname as Ghantasala, was an Indian playback singer and film composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada cinema and also in Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi language films. He is considered one of the greatest singers of Telugu cinema. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to Indian cinema. According to The Hindu and The Indian Express, Ghantasala was 'such a divine talent and with his songs he could move the hearts of the people'. 'Ghantasala's blending of classical improvisations to the art of light music combined with his virtuosity and sensitivity puts him a class apart, above all others in the field of playback singing'. Gifted with what Indian film historian V. A. K. Ranga Rao called 'the most majestic voice', Ghantasala helped Telugu film music develop its own distinct character which remains unparalleled. He is referred to as the 'Gaana Gandharva' for his mesmerising voice and musical skills.
Missamma is a 1955 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film directed by L. V. Prasad. It was produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani on Vijaya Productions banner. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao, Savitri, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jamuna. The script was adapted by Chakrapani from Rabindranath Maitra's Bengali play Manmoyee Girls' School. It revolves around two unemployed people — M. T. Rao and Mary — who pose as a married couple to obtain employment in a high school founded by Gopalam, a zamindar. As Rao and Mary fall in love, Gopalam's nephew A. K. Raju learns that Mary is Gopalam's missing elder daughter Mahalakshmi; she is unaware of her true identity.
Akkineni Nagarjuna Rao, known mononymously as Nagarjuna, is an Indian actor, film producer, television presenter, and entrepreneur. Nagarjuna has acted predominantly in Telugu cinema, along with a few Hindi and Tamil films. He received two National Film Awards namely, for Ninne Pelladata (1996), which he produced won the Best Feature Film in Telugu and a Special Mention as actor for Annamayya (1997); nine state Nandi Awards, and three Filmfare Awards South.

Jandhyala Subrahmanya Sastry, known mononymously by his surname Jandhyala, was an Indian film director, screenwriter, playwright, and actor known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He is popularly known as Hasya Brahma. In a career spanning more than two decades, he directed over 40 films and wrote the dialogue for more than 300 films. He won three state Nandi Awards one each for Best Director, Best Story Writer, and Best Dialogue Writer and one Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu. Poola Rangadu is a 1967 Indian Telugu-language crime thriller film, produced by D. Madhusudhana Rao under Annapurna Pictures and directed by Adurthi Subba Rao and produced by D. Madhusudhana Rao. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jamuna, Sobhan Babu, Vijaya Nirmala, and music composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. The film, loosely based on A. J. Cronin's novel Beyond This Place, was released on 24 November and became a box office success. It was remade in Tamil in 1970 as En Annan and in Hindi in 1972 as Jeet.

Thotakura Somaraju and Saluri Koteswara Rao, popularly known as Raj–Koti, were a duo of Indian film music composers, singer-songwriters, record producers, musicians and multi-instrumentalist in Telugu cinema. In a notable career spanning a decade, the duo has garnered particular acclaim for redefining contemporary Telugu film music. They composed music for about 180 films. Out of their 3,000 songs, about 2,500 songs were sung by singers S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and K. S. Chithra.
Antham in Telugu is a 1992 Indian neo-noir crime film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, filmed simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi languages. It stars Nagarjuna, Urmila Matondkar, Danny Denzongpa. The soundtrack was composed by R. D. Burman, as well as Mani Sharma and M.M. Keeravani, who each composed one song. The background score, of the film, was composed by Mani Sharma. The Hindi version was titled Drohi. However, it was released on 23 October 1992, on Diwali that year, a month after the release of the Telugu version. Both the versions, as well as the music, received positive reviews upon release.
Rangula Ratnam is a 1966 Indian Telugu-language film directed and produced by B. N. Reddy under the banner of Vauhini pictures. The film stars Chandra Mohan, Vanisri, Anjali Devi and Baby Rekha. It is a social and political satire involving a middle-class family in the backdrop of politics and elections. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and also won two Nandi Awards. B. N. Reddy introduced many stalwarts like Chandra Mohan, Vanisri, Rekha and Vijaya Nirmala as young artistes to the film industry with this movie.
Bhaaga Pirivinai is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Bhimsingh, starring Sivaji Ganesan, M. R. Radha and B. Saroja Devi. The film was released on 31 October 1959. It was remade in Hindi as Khandan (1965), in Telugu as Kalasi Vunte Kaladu Sukham (1961), in Kannada as Muriyada Mane (1964), and in Malayalam as Nirakudam (1977).
Antha is a 1981 Indian Kannada-language action thriller film directed by Rajendra Singh Babu, based on H. K. Ananth Rao's serialised story of the same name published for the weekly magazine Sudha. The film stars Ambareesh and Lakshmi, while Shakti Prasad, Lakshman, Vajramuni, Tiger Prabhakar, Sundar Krishna Urs appear in supporting roles. Mayabazar: Music from the Motion Picture is the soundtrack album of the 1957 Indian bilingual film of the same name which was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil. Ghantasala composed the album and the background score for the film. The soundtrack album features 12 tracks, whose lyrics were penned by Pingali Nagendrarao and Thanjai N. Ramaiah Dass for the Telugu and Tamil versions respectively.
