The Atheist Centre is an institution founded by Goparaju Ramachandra Rao and Saraswathi Gora (1912–2006) to initiate social change in rural Andhra Pradesh based on the ideology of Gandhism and atheism. Founded in 1940 at Mudnur village in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh,India the Centre was later shifted to Vijayawada in 1947. As a member organisation of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations,the Atheist Centre endorses the Amsterdam Declaration 2002. The institution received the International Humanist and Ethical Union's International Humanist Award in 1986 for pioneering in the field of social work. After the Indian Ocean tsunami,the Atheist Centre worked with the Institute for Humanist Studies to provide aid to the victims of the disaster.

He was conferred with the title Desoddhaaraka by the Andhra Mahasabha. In 1935,the Andhra University honoured him with Kalaprapoorna,an honorary doctorate of Literature.

Sri Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya,was a very captivating poet,speaker,songwriter,philosopher,singer and an extraordinary revolutionary with a philosophy of non-violence. Sri Nadimpalli Venkata Lakshmi Narasimha Rao worked in tandem with Sri Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya. For his exemplary work and sacrifices for freedom movement in Andhra,he was fondly conferred the name 'Andhra Ratna'

He represents the Telugu Desam Party from Nuzvid Assembly Constituency,Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. He was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for four terms,in 2004,2009,2019 and 2024. Elected first in 2004 from the Vuyyur Constituency,and then in 2009 and 2019 elected from the Penamaluru Constituency. Parthasarathy joined Telugu Desam Party prior to 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.

He is the founder of Sarvottama Granthalayam in Vijayawada.

As Ashtavadhani,he has given 170 performances and has written and published 50 books across various genres. His most notable literary contribution is his performance of Avadhanam –a literary performance. He has received an honorary D Litt from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University and a Distinguished Teacher award from the Department of Higher Education,Government of Andhra Pradesh.

He actively participated in the Indian independence movement during the 1920s,engaging in activities such as salt satyagraha and non-cooperation movements. Due to his involvement in these movements,he was frequently arrested and jailed.
