Manfred Merkel (born 3 November 1938) is a retired slalom canoeist who competed for East Germany.

Merkel was born in 1938 in Meuselwitz. [1] He competed from the late 1950s to the late 1960s. He won seven gold medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships (C-2: 1961, 1963, 1965; C-2 team: 1961, 1963, 1967; Mixed C-2: 1959).

Anke Ohde is an East German sprint canoer who competed in the mid-1970s. She won five gold medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with two in the K-1 500 m, one in the K-2 500 m (1974), and two in the K-4 500 m events. In 1976, she was displaced by fellow SC Neubrandenburg club member Carola Zirzow in the K-1. The Olympic nomination for the K-2 went to the world champions, Bärbel Köster and Zirzow. Ohde thus went to the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal as a canoeing reserve and did not compete. Ohde finished her active career after the Montreal Olympics.

Ursula Küper is a retired German swimmer. In 1960, she set a world record in the 100 m breaststroke. The same year she competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m medley relay. Two years later she won a bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the 1962 European Aquatics Championships. She finished eighth in this event at the 1964 Olympics.

Fritz Lange is a former East German slalom canoeist who competed in the 1960s. He won two medals in the K-1 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold in 1963 and a silver in 1965.
