Manikam Vasagam Pillai MBE (last name sometimes spelt Pillay) was a Fiji Indian lawyer,football administrator,and politician. He was a supporter of the Alliance Party [1] and in the 1968 by-elections contested the Nadi Indian Communal seat against Dr A. D. Patel,the leader of the Federation Party,but lost by 7903 votes to 2772. [2] He later served as Attorney General of Fiji from 1981 to 1984. [3] He then became Chairman of the Fiji Law Reform Commission,serving till 1987.[ citation needed ]
Pillay was President of the Fiji Football Association from 1962 to 1965,and again from 1967 to 1983. [4] He opened Govind Park in July 1976. [5] Associates remembered him as a polite and unflappable person,who rarely spoke during negotiations,except to propose a compromise (which was usually accepted) to break a deadlock. [6]
On 13 June 1980,Pillai was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to the community. [7] He died in the late 1980s or early 1990s. [8]

Dhanraj Pillay is a retired Indian field hockey player and former captain of the India national team. He also looks after the Air India Sports Promotion Board as a Joint Secretary based in Mumbai. For the last 5 years,Dhanraj is overseeing the SAG Hockey Academy in Gujarat funded by the Gujarat Government. He is widely regarded as one of the best Indian players of hockey.

Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka is a Fijian politician who has served as Prime Minister of Fiji since 24 December 2022. He was the instigator of two military coups in 1987. He was democratically elected as Prime Minister of Fiji,serving from 1992 to 1999,and again in 2022,leading a three-party coalition. He also served as Chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs from 1999 to 2001,and later as Chairman of the Cakaudrove Provincial Council from 2001 to 2008.
Sir Denis Follows,CBE was a British sports administrator. Between 1962 and 1973 he was Secretary of the Football Association (FA) and from 1977 was Chairman of the British Olympic Association. During his tenure as BOA Chairman,he was instrumental in ensuring that British competitors were able to choose whether or not to compete at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The BOA had come under government pressure to withdraw the team in protest at the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Follows led the party to Moscow as Team Commandant.
