Manisha Rani (born 9 June 1997) [1] is an Indian dancer, and internet personality. She participated in the reality show Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 in 2023 where she finished as 2nd runner-up. In 2024. Previously she participated in the dance-reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 as a wild-card contestant and emerged as the winner of the season.

Early life

Manisha was born in a middle-class family in the Munger District of Bihar to her father Manoj Kumar Chandi and mother Ragini Devi. In an interview, Manisha Rani revealed that her parents were separated when she was 8 years old and she along with her four siblings was raised by her father alone. [2] [3]

Manisha Rani completed her education from her hometown in Munger and then she ran away from Bihar to Kolkata to learn dancing. In Kolkata, she took various jobs like working as a waitress [4] and background dancer. [5] [6] [7]

Career

Manisha Rani first appeared on Indian Television in a dance reality show Dance India Dance Season 5 [8] where she was evicted in the first round itself. After that, she did a small role in the &TV serial Gudiya Hamari Sabhi Pe Bhari in 2020.

In 2023, after almost 9 years of struggle, Manisha Rani participated in the reality show Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 where she finished as the 2nd runner-up. In 2024, she participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 as a wild-card contestant and emerged as the winner of the season. [9]
