Manju Sarkar (born 1 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi writer. [1] He is the recipient of Bangla Academy Literary Award (1998). [2]

Education and career

Sarkar studied in Kailash Ranjan High School and Carmichael College. He retired as the publication officer of Jatiya Granthakendra. He then worked as an editor of the Amar Desh and The Daily Ittefaq. [3]

Selina Hossain is a Bangladeshi novelist and the current president of Bangla Academy since February 2022. Her major works include Hangor Nodi Grenade (1976) and Poka Makorer Ghor Boshoti (1996). Shawkat Ali was a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1968 and Ekushey Padak in 1990 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Ghulam Murshid is a Bangladeshi author, scholar and journalist, based in London. He won a number of awards, including Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1982 for his contribution to research.; Prothom Alo Book Award in 2007; IFIC literary prize 2018; the Ekusey Padak for language and literature in 2021 and the Vidyasagar Endowments Lectures 1973 at Calcutta University. Besides being a prolific author, Dr. Murshid is a distinguished lexicographer. He edited a three-volume Bengali dictionary, called 'Bibartonmulak Bangla Abhidhan', published in 2013–2014, by the Bangla Academy. In the two hundred years' of history of Bengali dictionaries, it is the first to be based on historical principles. It provides the evolution of the form and meaning of every word and traces the first use thereof in written Bengali.

Arunabh Sarkar is a Bangladeshi poet, columnist, literary editor, and freedom fighter. He was born in Tangail, Bangladesh. He received the 2009 Bangla Academy Literary Award for poetry, Arunabh also received the Tangail Sahitya Sangsad Poetry Award for 2007. He has published three collection of poems : Nagare Baul, Keu Kichhui Jane Na, and Narira Fere Na. Sarkar also edited the poetry magazine Eshika from 1969 to 1985 and has been a journalist for some 40 years.
