Manor Cultural Prize

Manor Cultural Prize (German : Manor Kunstpreis; French : Prix Manor) is a Swiss fine arts prize awarded every two years by the Manor (department store) alongside art museums in 12 Swiss cities, which was founded in 1982 in Lucerne. [1] [2] The goal is to promote emerging artists under the age of 40. [3] [4]

About

Manor Cultural Prize was founded in 1982 by Philippe Nordmann. [2] The award includes a cash prize (roughly 15,000 Swiss francs), the acquisition of art for their museum art collection, an exhibition and published exhibition catalogue. [2]

Hans Danuser was a Swiss artist and photographer. His first major work, the cycle In Vivo, brought him international fame, therein he broke several societal taboos with respect to genetic research and nuclear physics. Marie–José Burki is a Swiss visual artist and educator. She is best known for video art, but also has worked in photography, screen printing, sculpture, and installation art. Her work is interested in exploring the interaction between words and images, the passing of time, and the narrative story. Burki teaches at Beaux-Arts de Paris. She lives between Brussels and Paris.

Martina Gmür is a Swiss visual artist. She works within many genres, including installation art, painting, drawing, performance art, and sculpture. She lives in Basel.
