The Bharatiya Janata Party is a political party in India and one of the two major Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress. BJP was born out from Syama Prasad Mukherjee's Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Since 2014,it has been the ruling political party in India under the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP is aligned with right-wing politics and has close ideological and organisational links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),a far-right paramilitary organisation. Its policies adhere to Hindutva,a Hindu nationalist ideology. The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) is a regional political party in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir union territory and Ladakh. Founded as the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference by Sheikh Abdullah and Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas in 1932 in the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir,the organisation renamed itself to National Conference in 1939 in order to represent all the people of the state. It supported the accession of the princely state to India in 1947. Prior to that,in 1941,a group led by Ghulam Abbas broke off from the National Conference and revived the old Muslim Conference. The revived Muslim Conference supported the accession of the princely state to Pakistan and led the movement for Azad Kashmir.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is an Indian regional political party with significant influence in the state of Odisha. It was founded by the former minister of mines and minerals of the Republic of India Naveen Patnaik on 26 December 1997 as a breakaway faction from the Janata Dal. The BJD is led by its founder as president of the party. The headquarters of the party is located in Forest Park,Bhubaneswar.

Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician,currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with a right-wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh,before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections,he was made state president of the BJP,and after the victory of BJP,he was appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the first Yogi Adityanath Government. Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency,losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However,he was given a second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.
Krishan Pal Gurjar is an Indian politician and is the present Minister of State of Cooperation. As a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha,he represents the Faridabad constituency in the state of Haryana. He won this seat in the 2014 Indian general election as a BJP candidate by a margin of 4,66,873 votes and he won election with margin of over 6 lakh in 2019 from Faridabad constituency. In August 2014 he also inaugurated Manjhawli bridge which is his dream project. In March 2024,he was re-fielded as the BJP candidate for the Faridabad constituency in the 2024 General Elections.

The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election,the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation,the alliance was dissolved,precipitating a political crisis.

The 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections were held on 20 November 2024 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. The turnout for the election was 66.05%,the highest since 1995. The BJP-led Maha Yuti alliance won a landslide victory,winning 235 seats. None of the parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance won the necessary number of seats to obtain the position of leader of opposition,a first in six decades.
The 2024 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections were held in Haryana on 5 October 2024 to elect all 90 members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
Local elections were held in the Indian state of Gujarat in 2021. Elections were held for 8,235 seats,with 237 seats having only one unopposed candidates. No form was filled for two seats in Taluka panchayat. The elections included six municipal corporations where elections took place in February —Ahmedabad,Surat,Vadodara,Rajkot,Bhavnagar and Jamnagar –and one (Gandhinagar) in which the elections were held on 3 October. Results to Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation were declared on 5 October 2021.
The 2024 Indian general election was held in West Bengal in seven phases between 19 April and 1 June 2024 to elect 42 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was announced on 4 June 2024.
