Manouchehr Parchami Araghi (born 12 October 1952) is an Iranian water polo player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1976 Summer Olympics. [1]
The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.

Parcham was an Islamic socialist faction of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan led by Babrak Karmal and Mohammed Najibullah. The sect was formed in 1967 following ideological splits in the PDPA; specifically, the Parchamis' belief in the need for swift social-economic reforms to achieve revolution. This was in direct contrast with their PDPA rivals, the Khalqs, who sought an immediate and violent overthrow of the government. Karmal believed that Afghanistan was not developed enough for a Leninist revolutionary approach and instead sought a patriotic and anti-imperialist united front to take the next steps toward revolution.
Khalq was a faction of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA). Its historical de facto leaders were Nur Muhammad Taraki (1967–1979), Hafizullah Amin (1979) and Sayed Mohammad Gulabzoy (1979–1990). It was also the name of the leftist newspaper produced by the same movement. The Khalq wing was formed in 1967 after the split of the party due to bitter resentment with the rival Parcham faction which had a differing revolutionary strategy.
The Olympisch Stadion or Kielstadion[ˈkilstaːdijɔn]) was built as the main stadium for the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. For those games, it hosted the athletics, equestrian, field hockey, football, gymnastics, modern pentathlon, rugby union, tug of war, weightlifting and korfball (demonstration) events. Following the Olympics it was converted to a football stadium. Its current tenant is K Beerschot VA, a Belgian football club. There are no remnants of the Olympic athletics track.

The council was the supreme state power under the communist regime and was a carbon copy of the Supreme Soviet in the Soviet Union. The point with the council was to convene on a semiannual basis to approve decisions made by the presidium.

Manouchehr Boroumand was an Iranian heavyweight weightlifter. He was selected for the 1960 Summer Olympics, but withdrew in the last moment due to an illness; he also missed the 1962 Asian Games because Iran did not send a delegation there. At the 1964 Summer Olympics he placed 12th. Boroumand has his best achievements in 1966, when he won a gold medal at the Asian Games and became the first Asian weightlifter to cross the 500 kg barrier in the total, which he has done at the world championships. Domestically he held the Iranian heavyweight title between 1961 and 1968.

Mahvash Shafaei is a retired Iranian foil fencer. In 1973 she became the first Iranian woman to win a gold medal at the Asian Fencing Championships. Next year she won two medals at the 1974 Asian Games. She placed 45th and 9th in the individual and team events at the 1976 Summer Olympics, respectively.
