Margherita "Mara" Servetto (born 1957), is an Italian architect and designer. She is the co-founder of Migliore + Servetto Architects.
She studied at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where she received her degree in architecture under the supervision of Achille Castiglioni. When Castiglioni obtained a teaching position at the Polytechnic University of Milan, she moved to Milan in order to collaborate with Castiglioni, which she did until 1990.
In the early 1990s, she worked on research, architectural, and design projects alongside Ico Migliore. In 1992, she designed some objects for Alessi. In the meantime, she developed researches and trials on the use of fiberglass both in architecture and design. Moreover, together with Ico Migliore and Giovanna Piccinno, she began to produce “AA.VV. Autorivari” objects, which started to be distributed in Italy.
In 1997 she co-founded with her husband, Ico Migliore, Migliore + Servetto Architects, an architecture firm which creates, together with an international team of architects and designers, projects on various scales: from architecture to interior design; from urban design to temporary exhibitions; from museum to communication projects. These projects, diversified as they are, create innovative places that have a major impact on people. Architectures, interior and exhibition design projects characterized by an expressive use of light and new technologies.
She has been awarded many international prizes, such as the XXI (2008), XXIII (2014), XXV (2018) ADI Compasso d'Oro (Ita), five Honorable Mentions ADI Compasso d'Oro (Ita), eleven Red Dot Design Award (Ger), [1] two German Design Award (Ger), two FX Interior Design Award (UK), the Annual Exhibit Design Award (Usa), two International Design Award (Usa) and the ASAL Exhibition Design of the Year (Ita).

The Compasso d'Oro is an industrial design award originated in Italy in 1954. Initially sponsored by the La Rinascente, a Milanese department store, the award has been organised and managed by the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI) since 1964. The Compasso d'Oro is the first, and among the most recognized and respected design awards. It aims to acknowledge and promote quality in its field in Italy and internationally, and has been called both the "Nobel" and the "Oscar" of design.
ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale) is an Italian association of about 1.100 architects, designers, manufacturers, trade journalists, academics and design universities. The ADI is responsible for the administration of the Compasso d'Oro design awards.
Achille Castiglioni was an Italian architect and designer of furniture, lighting, radiograms and other objects. As a professor of design, he advised his students "If you are not curious, forget it. If you are not interested in others, what they do and how they act, then being a designer is not the right job for you."

Zanotta is an Italian furniture company particularly known for the iconic pieces of Italian design it produced in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. These include the "Sacco" bean bag chair and "Blow", the first mass-produced inflatable chair. The company was founded in 1954 and has its main plant in Nova Milanese. In 1984 Zanotta established its experimental division, Zabro, headed by Alessandro Guerriero, with Alessandro Mendini and Stefano Casciani. Since the death of its founder, Aurelio Zanotta, in 1991, it has been run by members of his family. Zanotta's products were awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1967, 1979, 1987 and 2020.
Andrea Branzi was an Italian architect, designer, and academic. He was born and raised in Florence, though he lived and worked in Milan for much of his career. He was a professor and chairman of the School of Interior Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan until 2009.
