Maranatha is sludge metal band from Ohio. The band consists of vocalist, guitarist, and drummer, Collin Simula, vocalist and bassist, Jack Huston, guitarist Darrell Chess and drummer Wes Jackson.

History

Maranatha started in 2011 as a solo project of Collin Simula, former drummer and bassist for Symphony in Peril and drummer for Kingsblood. [2] [3] Simula independently released their debut EP, Incarnate, in 2012. [3] [4] In 2013, he independently released the second EP, Spiritless, that featured Nick Nowell of The Famine. [5]

Simula added his longtime friend Jack Huston to play bass and do co-vocals. As of 2014, the band has two vocalists. [3]

The band released their debut full-length album, Filth on July 24, 2015, via New American Records. [3]

Narcissus was an influential American hardcore band formed by John LaRussa and John Pope in 1998 in Canton, Ohio. In addition to John Pope and John LaRussa (guitar), who were in the band from start to finish, members included, at various times, Justin Carroll (bass), Ray Taylor, Derek Carter (percussion), Bill Wensel (percussion), Stephen Cushman (percussion) and Josh King (bass). The band was on the now-defunct label Takehold Records before joining Century Media. A few albums were re-released through Tooth & Nail. Before breaking up the band were featured on The Vans Warped tour and were getting ready to hit Europe for their international release of Crave and Collapse, which was received well overseas. They announced that they have reunited and become a band again in 2020 after John Pope and John LaRussa were offered a spot on the famous Furnace Fest, performing on day 1, September 24th, 2021 along with bands Converge, Glassjaw, Killswitch Engage, Everytime I Die and many others. They performed their first show on September 11, 2021.

Mayfly was an American Christian metal band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2011. They have released one extended play, Vereor Deus, Non Dogma, in 2014, with Voluminous Records. On March 14, 2017, the band announced that had disbanded.
