Marc Keahey was a Democratic member of the Alabama Senate,representing the 22nd district.
Keahey earned a business degree from the University of Alabama,and in 2004 earned a JD from Cumberland School of Law. He has a wife,Karie,and four children. [1]
After graduating from law school,Keahey served as a public defender,assistant district attorney,and private lawyer. Keahey was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2006,and won a special election the Alabama Senate in 2009. He won election to a full Senate term in 2010. Keahey served on the Agriculture,Conservation and Forestry Committee,Business and Labor Committee,Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability Committee,Judiciary,and the Local Legislation No. 3 Committee. In 2010,Keahey was named Legislator of the Year by the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts. [2]
He dropped his re-election bid in 2014 after the Republican-controlled Senate redrew his district to be majority Republican. [3]

A special election for Alabama's 1st congressional district was held following the resignation of Jo Bonner on August 2,2013,to become vice chancellor for the University of Alabama. Primary elections were held on September 24. A runoff in the Republican primary took place on November 5 and the general election was pushed back to December 17. Republican Bradley Byrne won the election by a wide margin in the strongly conservative district.
The 2018 New York gubernatorial election occurred on November 6,2018. Incumbent Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo won re-election to a third term,defeating Republican Marc Molinaro and several minor party candidates. Cuomo received 59.6% of the vote to Molinaro's 36.2%.

The 2022 United States Senate election in Alabama was held on November 8,2022,to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Alabama. Incumbent Senator Richard Shelby was first elected in 1986 and re-elected in 1992 as a Democrat before switching to the Republican Party in 1994. In his most recent election in 2016,he was re-elected with 64% of the vote over Democrat Ron Crumpton. In February 2021,Shelby announced that he would not seek re-election to a seventh term,which resulted in the Senate seat being open for the first time since 1968.
