Marcus Thomas (born 10 June 1970 in Bridgetown, Barbados) is a super middleweight Barbadian boxer who turned pro in 2001. [1] He represented Barbados in the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1996 Summer Olympics, 1991 Pan American Games, 1995 Pan American Games, the 1994 Commonwealth Games [2] and the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games, where he won a silver medal in the light middleweight category.

Marita Payne-Wiggins is a Canadian former track and field athlete who competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics. She is the co-Canadian record holder in the 400 metres, along with Jillian Richardson, and previously held the Canadian record in the 200 metres.

Chris Clarke is a former professional boxer from Canada, who won the Canadian and Commonwealth Welterweight championship titles and also became the Canadian Middleweight champion. As an amateur boxer, Clarke won the gold medal in the men's lightweight division at the 1975 Pan American Games. Barbados have sent teams to fifteen Commonwealth Games. The first Games at which they competed were in 1954, and the only event since they have not attended was the 1986 Games. They have won twelve medals, with a twenty-eight-year medal drought between 1970 and 1998.

Sports in Barbados are many and varied. The large Barbadian diaspora around the globe and wide-scale availability of International television covered on the local cable service and DirectTV has meant that Barbadians have always been up to date on international trends. Barbadians now follow a wide cross-section of sport from around the world. In recent years, the Barbadian government has implemented a policy of sport-based tourism. Tammara Thibeault is a Canadian boxer competing in the Middleweight category. Thibeault won the 2022 World Championship in Istanbul after earlier winning the middleweight bronze in 2019. She is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion when she won gold in Birmingham in 2022, improving on her bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Thibeault is also the current Pan American Games champion when she won gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games, again improving on her bronze from the 2019 Pan American Games.

The Barbados national badminton team represents Barbados in international badminton team competitions. The national team is managed by the Barbados Badminton Association in Bridgetown. Barbados have never medaled at the Pan American Badminton Championships. The Barbadian mixed team started participating in the Commonwealth Games mixed team event since 2010.
