Marcus de Bye sometimes spelt de Bie or de Bije (1638/39, The Hague - after 1688) [1] was a Dutch painter and engraver.

Life

He learnt to paint under Jacob van der Does, and produced some landscapes with animals in the style his teacher, but he is best known for his etchings of animals, after the designs of Paulus Potter and Markus Gerard. Member of Confrerie Pictura. He died in 1670. [2]

Juan de la Corte, a Spanish painter of Flemish origin, who was born in Antwerp, Flanders in c. 1590. He was instructed by Velazquez, and painted portraits and history, but chiefly excelled in battle-pieces and perspective views. He also painted small pictures of subjects from sacred history. He was painter to King Phillip III, and was continued in that situation by his successor, King Philip IV. There are several of his pictures in the palace of Buen Retiro. He died at Madrid in 1660.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nicolas de Liemaker</span>

Nicolaas Liemaker, or de Liemaker, de Liemaeckere, surnamed Roose, or Nicolaes Roose, a Flemish historical painter, was born at Ghent in 1601. He was the son of Jacob De Liemaker, a painter upon glass, and is said by Descamps to have been a pupil of Markus Geeraerts the younger, but as the latter joined his father in London in 1580, it is most likely that he studied under Otto van Veen at Antwerp. He attained high rank in his profession, and in 1625 returned to Ghent, where he died in 1646. The Museum of Ghent and the churches of that city and of other towns of Flanders possess a great number of his works. His best picture is the 'Consecration of St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra,' which is above the high altar of the church of St. Nicholas at Ghent.
