Margaretha Pedder (born 27 June 1980) is an English former competitive swimmer who specialised in butterfly events. [2]
Pedder is the former British record holder in both the 100m butterfly and the 200m butterfly and became a semifinalist in the 200 m butterfly at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Later she captured a bronze medal when her nation England hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games. During her sporting career, Pedder trained with the Portsmouth Northsea Swim Club under head coach Chris Nesbit and later at the University of Southern California under Mark Schubert.
Pedder competed in a butterfly double, as a member of Team GB, at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She eclipsed FINA A-standards of 1:00.74 (100 m butterfly) and 2:10.57 (200 m butterfly) from the British Olympic Trials in Sheffield. [1] [3] [4] On the first day of the Games, Pedder placed thirtieth in the 100 m butterfly. Swimming in heat four, she escaped from last at the turn to edge out Finland's Marja Pärssinen by 0.41 seconds for the seventh seed in 1:01.53. [5] [6] Three days later, in the 200 m butterfly, Pedder advanced to the top 16, and finished her semifinal run with an eleventh-place time and a lifetime best of 2:10.49. [7] [8]
When her nation England hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, Pedder enjoyed the race by a massive roar of a home crowd, as she took home the bronze in the 200 m butterfly at 2:11.60, extending a delightful feast for the Brits with a two–three finish. [9]
At the ASA National British Championships she won the 100 metres butterfly title in 2000 [10] and the 200 metres butterfly title four times in 1996, 1997. 1998 and 1999. [11] [12] [13] [14]
Pedder also competed in U.S collegiate swimming for the University of Southern California, where she became a three-time All-American in the mile and 800 freestyle relay.

Roberto Delgado Martillo is an American-Ecuadorian former swimmer who specialized in freestyle and butterfly events. A two-time Olympian, he holds numerous Ecuadorian records in both 100 and 200 m butterfly, and retains his dual resident status to compete internationally for his parents' homeland. While studying in the United States, Delgado has been listed as an all-time Top 10 performer in the 200 m butterfly for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Anthony Ang Kang Keam is a Malaysian former swimmer, who specialised in butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, a double SEA Games titleholder in a butterfly double, a Bolles School graduate, and a member of Florida State University (1998-1999) and University of Minnesota (2000-2002) swimming and diving team while studying in the United States.
Artem Honcharenko is a Ukrainian former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and in individual medley events. Honcharenko competed in three swimming events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He eclipsed a FINA B-cut of 2:04.30 from the Belarus Championships in Minsk. On the first day of the Games, Honcharenko teamed up with Vyacheslav Shyrshov, Pavlo Khnykin, and the late Rostyslav Svanidze in the 4×100 m freestyle relay. Honcharenko swam the third leg in heat three and recorded a split of 49.98, but the Ukrainians settled only for fourth place and twelfth overall with a final time of 3:21.48. Three days later, Honcharenko, along with Svanidze, Ihor Snitko, and Serhiy Fesenko, placed fourteenth in the 4×200 m freestyle relay with a time of 7:32.16. In his final event, 200 m individual medley, Honcharenko placed thirty-first on the morning prelims. Swimming in heat four, he pulled off a fifth-place effort with a much faster freestyle leg in 2:05.98, a 1.68-second deficit off his entry time.
Andrey Kvassov is a Kazakhstani-Kyrgyzstani former swimmer, who specialized in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a top 16 finalist at the 2002 Asian Games.
Oleg Nikolayevich Tsvetkovskiy is an Uzbek former swimmer, who specialized in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. He represented Uzbekistan in two editions of the Olympic Games, since the nation's breakup from the Soviet Union.

Nadiya Beshevli is a Ukrainian former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and backstroke events. She represented Ukraine, as an 18-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and held numerous Ukrainian titles and meet records in the freestyle relays and backstroke double.
Heidi Earp is a female English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games and the European championships, and for England in the Commonwealth Games.
Zampia Melachroinou is a Greek former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and butterfly events. She represented Greece at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later collected a total of three medals at the Mediterranean Games. During her sporting career, Melachroinou trained for Aris Nikaias Swim Club under head coach Antonis Pitidis.
Lee Bo-Eun is a South Korean former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and butterfly events. She represented South Korea in two editions of the Olympic Games, and also earned bronze medals in the medley relay at the Asian Games.
Praphalsai "Waen" Minpraphal is a Thai former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly, but also competed in backstroke and individual medley. She represented Thailand in all three editions of the Olympic Games since 1992, and earned numerous medals in her own specialties at the Southeast Asian Games since 1991. While residing in the United States on her college career, she helped the California Golden Bears set a new world record (1:49.23) and capture the 4×50 m medley title at the 2000 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Minpraphal is among the Asian swimmers, along with Joscelin Yeo of Singapore and Akiko Thomson of the Philippines, to train for the Bears under women's head coach Teri McKeever.
Hsieh Shu-ting is a Taiwanese former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and butterfly events. She represented Chinese Taipei in two editions of the Olympic Games, and later captured a bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay (8:18.92) at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
Flora Kong Yan Kay is a Hong Kong former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. She represented Hong Kong, as a 15-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later became a finalist in the 200 m butterfly at the 2002 Asian Games.
Zhanna Yevhenivna Lozumyrska is a Ukrainian former swimmer, who specialized in middle-distance freestyle and butterfly events. Lozumyrska competed for Ukraine in two swimming events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She achieved a FINA B-cut of 2:14.14 from the European Championships in Helsinki, Finland. On the fourth day of the Games, Lozumyrska placed twenty-fourth in the 200 m butterfly. Swimming in heat two, she faded down the stretch from third at the halfway turn to pick up a fourth seed in 2:14.47, about a third of a second (0.33) outside her entry standard. The following day, in the 4×200 m freestyle relay, Lozumyrska and her teammates Olena Lapunova, Nadiya Beshevli, and Albina Bordunova were disqualified from heat one in the prelims for an early launch on the lead-off leg.
Natalia Roubina is a Cypriot former swimmer, who specialized in middle-distance freestyle and butterfly events. She represented Cyprus, as a 16-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
