Maria Hein Puig (born 2 October 2003) is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and producer releasing music in Catalan language. She has released two studio albums, Continent i Contingut (2021) and Tot allò que no sap ningú (2023).
Maria Hein Puig was born on 2 October 2003 in Felanitx, Balearic Islands, Spain, to a German father and Spanish mother. [1] She began playing piano at the age of four. [2] She continued her training as a pianist at the Liceu and later at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona. [3] [4] When she was in high school, she was a part of a cover group with four of her friends. [1]
In 2020, Hein released her first song "Idò un cafe", then she was discovered by Hidden Track Records. She then signed a recording contract with the label. [5] In September 2021, she performed at the annual festival La Mercè in Barcelona. [6] In October 2021, she released her debut studio album Continent i Contingut. [7] In November 2022, she won the fan-voted Best Singer-Songwriter Album for the album at the Enderrock Awards of Balearic Music. [8] In February 2023, Hein released a collaborative single, "CLUB" with singer Julieta. [9] In April 2023, she released new versions of her single "La Dama de Mallorca". [10]
In mid-2023, she released two singles of her then-upcoming studio album, "FETS DE FIL" and "FIU FIUUU". [11] [12] She released her sophomore studio album Tot allò que no sap ningú in September 2023. [13] She presented the album at the music event Mercado de Música Viva de Vich in 2023. [14] In October 2023, she won another Enderrock Award of Balearic Music for Best Artist by Popular Vote. [15] In November 2023, she embarked on a concert tour, Papallones Tour. [16]
In February 2024, she released a single "HANA", her first release with Primavera Labels. [17] In June 2024, she released a single with SOLUNA and MOED, "JUICY A MIDA". [18]
Hein explores a variety of musical styles, ranging from traditional folk to pop music, with elements of electronica. Her debut album features acoustic and folk sounds, influenced by artists including Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Maria del Mar Bonet, and Joan Miquel Oliver. [1] In contrast, her sophomore album incorporates a broader range of styles, including dancehall, hyperpop, and contemporary R&B, with influences from English music and K-pop. [19]

Maria del Mar Bonet i Verdaguer is a Spanish singer from the island of Majorca.
María Isabel González-Meneses García-Valdecasas, known mononymously as Mai Meneses, is a Spanish singer and songwriter. She also leads the Spanish pop band Nena Daconte.
Antoni Pizà, born in Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain, in 1962, is a musicologist. After receiving a PhD at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 1994, he taught music history at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. He also taught at the City College of New York, the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Islas Baleares. He is currently the director of the Foundation for Iberian Music and a member of the doctoral faculty in music at the Graduate Center of CUNY. Since the 2000s, he has curated a series of musical events at the Graduate Center featuring well-known musicians and authors, including Charles Rosen, Philip Glass, Claire Chase, David Harrington, Roger Scruton, Greil Marcus, Richard Taruskin, Paul Griffiths, and others.
Antònia Font is a Majorcan band, formed in 1997. They are characterized by their festive music and their humorous and fantastic lyrics. The group's creative universe includes elements such as outer space and astronautics, combined with themes from everyday life. Their lyrics are written in the Catalan variant spoken in Mallorca. Txarango was a Spanish (Catalan) band formed in Barcelona in 2010. Their members are musicians from the Catalan counties of Ripollès, Osona and Garrotxa. Nowadays, the band is composed of Alguer Miquel (voice), Marcel Lázara, a.k.a. Tito, Sergi Carbonell, a.k.a.
