Marika Eensalu (until 1971 Marika Bahvalova; born 20 September 1947) is an Estonian opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and music pedagogue. [1] [2]
Eensalu was born in Tallinn and attended schools in Peri before enrolling at the Tallinn University of Technology. After graduation, she worked at the AS Kommunaalprojekt construction design company. She sang in the Estonian girls' choir Ellerhein, and later with the Aare Rüütel Orchestra and studied singing at the Estonian SSR State Philharmonic. In 1973, she graduated from Ludmilla Issakova's class of classical singing at the Tallinn Music School. In 1978, she graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory. [1]
From 1970 to 1980, she sang with the Estonia Theatre's choir. From 1980 until 1997, she was an Estonia Theatre soloist. [1]
From 1988 to 1990, she taught at the Tallinn State Conservatory. Since 1990, she has taught at Georg Ots Tallinn Music College. Her notable students have included Kädy Plaas and Maria Veretenina.
Eensalu's husband is actor and theatre director Ivo Eensalu. [1]

Georg Ots was an Estonian baritone. He sang at the Estonian National Opera from 1951 to his death in 1975. Ots gained wider recognition with his roles at the Bolshoi Theatre, particularly with his lead role in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin with Galina Vishnevskaya as Tatyana. He was also celebrated for his interpretation in a musical film Mister Iks, based on Imre Kálmán's operetta Die Zirkusprinzessin.

Uku Suviste is an Estonian singer-songwriter, pianist and music producer. He was scheduled to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, before cancellation of the competition that year. Instead, he represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Aarne Saluveer is an Estonian conductor and music pedagogue. He is primarily known by its activity with children's music and children's choirs.
Margarita Voites was an Estonian coloratura soprano who appeared internationally. She was from 1969 to 1990 a leading soprano at the Estonia Theatre, regarded as the prima donna of Estonia. She portrayed tragic characters such as Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor as well as comic roles such as Fiorilla in Rossini's Il turco in Italia, and Donizetti's La fille du régiment. She appeared internationally in concert and received international awards.
Viktor Gurjev was an Estonian opera singer (tenor) and pedagogue.
Ivo Eensalu is an Estonian actor and theatre director. Eensalu's career began in the early 1970s, and has appeared as an actor on stage, film and in television. He became widely known after appearing on the Eesti Televisioon children's educational television series Mõmmi ja aabits. From 1995 until 2001, he was the director of the Estonian Drama Theatre.
