Marina Fioravanti (born 6 October 1993) is a Brazilian rugby union player. [1] She competed in the women's tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [2]

Rugby career

Fioravanti represented Brazil at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town, they placed eleventh overall. [3] [ citation needed ]

In July 2023, she was named in Brazil's fifteens team to play Colombia for a spot in the inaugural WXV competition. [4] [5] She started in the first of two games against Colombia, her side narrowly lost 23–24. [6]

WXV is a women's international rugby union competition that will be held annually, launched in 2023.The competition consists of three tiers, respectively named WXV 1, WXV 2, and WXV 3. Each tier consists of six teams divided into two pools and is run in a split pool format, where teams only face teams from the other pool.

The 2023 WXV was the first edition of WXV, a women's international rugby union group tournament for senior national teams organised by World Rugby, and took place between 13 October and 4 November. The competition featured three divisions of six nations each, evenly divided across two pools. Participating teams were determined by regional competitions and play-in matches. Wellington, Dunedin, and Auckland in New Zealand hosted the first-division WXV 1. Stellenbosch and Cape Town in South Africa hosted WXV 2, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates hosted WXV 3.
