Marionia cabindae is a species of sea slug, a dendronotid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Tritoniidae. [2]
This species was described from West Africa. The type material consisted of one specimen taken at 5°39′S12°0′E / 5.650°S 12.000°E , at a depth of 40 m, on 14.10.1948, twelve miles W.S.W. of Cabinda, and one taken at 5°48′S12°03′E / 5.800°S 12.050°E at a depth of 30-35 m on 16.10.1948, seven miles S.W. of Pointe Ngelo. Pedro Bank is a large bank of sand and coral, partially covered with seagrass, about 80 km south and southwest of Jamaica, rising steeply from a seabed of 800 metres depth. It slopes gently from Pedro Cays to the west and north with depths from 13 to 30 metres. The total area of the bank within the 100-metre (328-foot) isobath measures 8,040 square kilometres. The area of a depth to 40 metres is triangular, 70 kilometres long east-west, and 43 kilometres wide. 2,400 square kilometres are less than 20 metres deep. With its islets, cays and rocks, a total land area of 270,000 m2 (2,906,256 sq ft), it is the location of one of the two offshore island groups of Jamaica, the other one being the Morant Cays. The bank is centered at 17°06′N78°20′W.

The keel for this boat was laid on 11 October 1940 at the DeSchiMAG AG Weser yard in Bremen, Germany, as yard number 998. She was commissioned on 4 September 1941 under the command of Kapitänleutnant Werner Hartenstein. The city of Plauen, Hartenstein's home city, adopted the submarine within the then popular sponsorship programme (Patenschaftsprogramm), organising gifts and holidays for the crew.

Ocean Layer was a 2,773 GRT cable ship built as a cargo ship in 1945 by Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, Flensburg, German. She was seized in May 1945 before launching and claimed as a war prize. Named Empire Frome, she was allocated to the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). The ship was completed in 1948. She was sold and converted to a cable ship in 1953, operating until 1959 when she caught fire at sea. Although she safely reached port, she was declared a constructive total loss and scrapped.
