During the 1960s, boxing, like mostly everything else around the world, went through changing times. Notable was the emergence of a young boxer named Cassius Clay, who would, in his own words shock the world, declare himself against war, and change his name to Muhammad Ali.
José Antonio Rivera was a Puerto Rican boxer. He was much better known as El Gallo Rivera or Tonito Rivera, and was a prominent boxer during the decade of the 1980s.
Juan Manuel Márquez Méndez is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1993 to 2014. He is the third Mexican boxer to become a world champion in four weight classes, having held nine world championships including the WBA (Super), IBF and WBO featherweight titles between 2003 and 2007; the WBC super featherweight title from 2007 to 2008; the WBA (Super), WBO, Ring magazine and lineal lightweight titles between 2008 and 2012; and the WBO junior welterweight title from 2012 to 2013.
Roger Mayweather is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1999, and has since worked as a boxing trainer. He is a two-weight world champion, having held the WBA and lineal super featherweight titles from 1983 to 1984, and the WBC light welterweight title from 1987 to 1989. Additionally he held the IBO light welterweight title in 1994, and the IBO welterweight title from 1994 to 1995.
Paul McCloskey is a former professional boxer from Northern Ireland who competed from 2005 to 2013. He held the British super-lightweight title from 2008 to 2009; the European super-lightweight title from 2009 to 2011; and challenged once for the WBA super-lightweight title in 2011. As an amateur, McCloskey won a silver medal in the welterweight division at the 2003 European Union Championships, and was an Irish Senior amateur champion.

Jason Cook is a professional boxer, who fights under the nickname "The Power". As an amateur, he won a silver medal for Wales at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. As a professional, he has fought as a lightweight, and has won both the European and IBO championships at the weight. He currently campaigns at Light-Welterweight, and fights out of Fight Academy Wales gym in Llanharan, South Wales under the guidance of professional coach Darren Wilson.
Gary Sykes is a former British super featherweight boxer. Educated at Birkdale High School he is based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire and is a former British super featherweight champion.
Robert Dickie was a Welsh professional boxer, fighting at both featherweight and super-featherweight. He was Scottish champion at featherweight, British champion at both weights and became WBC International super-featherweight champion in 1988. He is one of only four Welshmen to hold a British boxing title at different weights, the others being Johnny Basham, Pat Thomas and Jack Petersen.
Floyd Havard is a Welsh former super featherweight boxer. He was twice British super featherweight champion, from 1988–1989 and 1994-1996. In 1994 he made an unsuccessful bid for the IBF super featherweight title against John John Molina.

He played at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, Wakefield Trinity (A-Team) and Bramley, as a centre, or loose forward, i.e. number 3 or 4, or 13, during the era of contested scrums.

Alan Richardson is an English amateur and professional featherweight boxer of the 1960s, and 1970s, he was the 1969 Amateur Boxing Association of England featherweight boxing champion, won bronze medals in both the 1969 European Amateur Boxing Championships and the 1970 British Commonwealth Games, and was British professional featherweight boxing champion from Tuesday 15 March 1977 to Thursday 20 April 1978.

His professional fighting weight varied from 145.5 lb, i.e. welterweight, through light middleweight and middleweight, to 163.5 lb, i.e. light heavyweight. He was managed/trained by former boxer Stan Skinkiss.

Frank Johnson was trained and managed by Jack Bates, and promoted by Jack Solomons.
