Mark James Dempsey (born 14 January 1964) [2] is an English football coach and former player.
Dempsey was born in Crumpsall, Manchester. He played as a midfielder in The Football League for Manchester United, Swindon Town, Sheffield United, Chesterfield and Rotherham United, and in Non-League football Radcliffe F.C.|Radcliffe Borough]]. [3] He was a youth coach with Manchester United before moving to Norway. [4] He has six children, two of them adopted. [5]
In February 2009, he took up a post in youth development with Tromsø and the northern Norway region. [6] On 9 November 2010, Dempsey joined Molde as part of new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær's backroom staff. [7] He followed Solskjær to Cardiff City in January 2014 as part of a new-look backroom staff after the sacking of Malky Mackay. [8]
In 2016, Dempsey was Haugesund's manager after taking over from Jostein Grindhaug after the 2015 season. Dempsey resigned as manager of Haugesund on 14 July 2016. [9]
In August 2016, Dempsey became manager of Swedish top-flight side Djurgården. [10]
On 29 December 2016, Molde announced that Dempsey had returned to the club as an assistant manager, working alongside Erling Moe, on a 2+1⁄2-year contract. [11]
On 1 December 2017, Dempsey was appointed manager of Start [12] On 18 May 2018, Dempsey got sacked by Start due to poor results. [13]
Dempsey was announced as the new manager of Norwegian 2nd tier club Kongsvinger on 11 June 2018. [14]
Dempsey rejoined Manchester United after the departure of José Mourinho in December 2018 as part of caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær's coaching staff, taking on the role of a technical coach. In 2019, whilst Manchester United were on their pre-season tour of Australia, Dempsey was struck ill and was admitted to hospital. He was subsequently off work for the next couple of months, before returning to his role in December 2019.
In 2022, he was part of the coaching team that successfully guided Norway's U21s to qualify for the European U21 finals in Romania and Georgia in the summer of 2023.

Molde Fotballklubb is a professional football club based in Molde, Norway, that competes in Eliteserien, the top flight of Norwegian football. Founded on 19 June 1911, the club was originally known as International and changed its name to Molde in 1915. Molde are five-time league champions and six-time Norwegian Cup winners, and have finished second in the league a further eleven times. Molde is one of only two Norwegian clubs to have participated in the UEFA Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær is a Norwegian professional football manager and former player. He was most recently the manager of Premier League club Manchester United. He played as a forward. As a player, Solskjær spent the majority of his career with Manchester United and also played 67 times for the Norway national team.
The Kniksen Award, established in 1990, honors the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen".

The 2012 season was Molde's 5th consecutive year in Tippeligaen, and their 36th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. It was Ole Gunnar Solskjær's second season as the club's manager. Molde were defending champions in Tippeligaen and played through qualification for UEFA Champions League. Molde entered the Champions League in the second qualifying round, where they eliminated Ventspils before and facing Basel of Switzerland in the third qualifying round. They lost 1–2 on aggregate and were knocked out, dropping down into the Play off round of the UEFA Europa League. Molde successfully defended their title on 11 November 2012, when they beat Hønefoss 1–0, whilst their closest title challengers, Strømsgodset lost 2–1 away to Sandnes Ulf.
The 2009 season was Molde's 2nd consecutive year in Tippeligaen, and their 33rd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They competed in Tippeligaen where they finished in 2nd position and the Norwegian Cup where they were defeated by Aalesund in the Norwegian Cup Final.
The 2013 season was Molde's sixth consecutive year in Tippeligaen, and their 37th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. It was Ole Gunnar Solskjær's third season as the club's manager. Molde were the defending champions in Tippeligaen, but lost their first four matches in the league and collected six points in the first ten games. The team did however turn the bad form, and finished the season in sixth place. The team won the 2013 Norwegian Football Cup, after defeating their main rivals Rosenborg 4–2 in the final. In Europe, Molde entered the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round, where they defeated Sligo Rovers. In the next round, the team was eliminated by Legia Warszawa on away goals. Molde proceeded to the Europe League play-off round, where they were knocked out by Rubin Kazan.

It is their first season with Tor Ole Skullerud as their manager as Ole Gunnar Solskjær left the club on 2 January 2014 to join Cardiff City. Along with Tippeligaen, the club also competed in the Norwegian Cup and the Europa League were they entered in the second qualifying round.

It was their second season with Tor Ole Skullerud as their manager, and they were the defending champions of both the Tippeligaen and Norwegian Cup. Erling Hagset Moe is a Norwegian professional football coach and former player who is the manager of Norwegian Eliteserien club Molde. In his active playing career, Moe played for Træff until he was aged 26 years.
The 2019 Eliteserien was the 75th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was third season of Eliteserien as rebranding from Tippeligaen.
The 2019 season was Molde's 12th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 43rd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They participated in Eliteserien, winning the title for the 4th time, reached the third round of the Cup and were knocked out of the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League in the playoff round by FK Partizan after entering at the First qualifying round stage. Molde were scheduled to take part in the 2019 Mesterfinalen against Rosenborg, but the match was cancelled 15 March 2019 due to heavy rain.
Molde Fotballklubb is a football club from Molde, Norway. It was established in 1911 as International by a group of people gathered by Klaus Daae Andersen. After permission was granted, it took the current name and joined the league system in 1928. Until 1937, Molde played in regional leagues, after numerous promotions and relegations. Since 1930, the team has played in the Norwegian Football Cup. In 1939, the club joined the third season of the League of Norway, the top division, but the break-out of the World War II caused a halt to all organized sports and thus this season was never completed.
The 2020 season was Molde's 13th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 44th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They finished second in the Eliteserien, whilst the Norwegian Cup and Mesterfinalen where cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway. In Europe, Molde where knocked out of the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League by Ferencváros dropping into the Europa League where they progressed to the Round of 32 which will take place in the 2021 season.
The 2019 season was Haugesund's 10th season in the Tippeligaen following their promotion in 2009.
