Duane Charles "Bill" Parcells is a former American football coach who served as a head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 19 seasons. He came to prominence as the head coach of the New York Giants from 1983 to 1990, where he won two Super Bowl titles. Parcells was later the head coach of the New England Patriots from 1993 to 1996, the New York Jets from 1997 to 2000, and the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2006. Nicknamed "the Big Tuna", he is the only NFL coach to lead four different franchises to the playoffs and three to a conference championship game.

Geathers was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 42nd overall selection in the second round of the 1984 NFL draft.

In October 1988, Sports Illustrated published a lengthy article on alleged steroid abuse in the football program at the University of South Carolina. The article, titled "The Nightmare of Steroids" and written by University of South Carolina football player Tommy Chaikin in collaboration with Sports Illustrated's Rick Telander, alleged the widespread use of steroids in the football program at the school. Following the article, a federal grand jury indicted four University of South Carolina football coaches in connection with steroid distribution to players. Three of the coaches pleaded guilty in plea-bargain arrangements and the fourth was acquitted. The episode was listed among "some of college football's biggest scandals" by sports reporter Tom Weir of USA Today.
The Wichita State Shockers football team was the college football program of Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. The Shockers fielded a team from 1897 to 1986. They played their home games at Cessna Stadium and were members of the Missouri Valley Conference until the program was discontinued. The team was known as Fairmount from its first season in 1897 to 1925 and Wichita from 1926 through 1963.
David Merritt is an American football coach for the Kansas City Chiefs for the National Football League (NFL) and former linebacker who served as the defensive backs coach for the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina State.
Gregory S. Mark is an American former football player who was a defensive end and linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1990 NFL Draft. He played college football at Miami. Mark played in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Mark was a defensive line coach for the Hurricanes from 1996 to 2005.
Richard Joseph Dvorak is a former American football defensive end who played four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1974 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wichita State University and attended Spearville High School in Spearville, Kansas.
