Mark Lucgjonaj (born 30 August 1986) is an Albanian poet and professor. [1]

Biography

Mark Lucgjonaj was born in Podgorica to an Albanian family from Malësi. He finished elementary school and high school in his hometown Tuzi to continue studies in University of Pristina in Kosovo. Mark studied Albanian language and literature, and later he finished master's degree in Luigj Gurakuqi University in Shkodër. [2] He is the nephew of notable Gheg Albanian writer Nokë Sinishtaj.

In June 2014 Lucgjonaj published his first poetry book in Albanian Zhurma e Mendimeve (The Noise of Thoughts) and in Montenegrin Buka Misli.

The Battle of Deçiq was a battle between Albanian tribesmen and Ottoman forces during the Malësori uprising of 1911. It was a turning point for Albania's secession from the Ottoman Empire. Dedë Gjo Luli, the organiser of the Albanian tribal forces, raised the Albanian flag for the first time since 1479 on the mountain of Deçiq after the Albanians had achieved victory over the Ottoman Turks.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gjelosh Gjokaj</span> Albanian painter

Gjelosh Gjokaj was an artist from Montenegro. An ethnic Albanian, he was born in the village of Gornji Milješ in Tuzi. After receiving his fine arts degree from the University of Arts in Belgrade in 1963, he proceeded to become part of the faculty until 1969. He later immigrated to Rome, Italy, where he lived and worked until 1983. He was able to leave his mark worldwide with over 45 international solo exhibits and well over 70 group shows. In 1983, he made Augsburg, Germany his primary residence until his death in 2016. He is referred as "father of graphic arts of Kosovo".
