Mark Ian McBain (born 30 October 1959, in Brisbane) is a former Australian rugby union player and former coach, who played as hooker for Queensland and for the Wallabies at the 1987 Rugby World Cup.

Career

Grown up in the St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, [1] McBain practiced rugby union in the Brothers Old Boys club. [2] In 1981, he debuted for the Queensland representative team during a match which saw the State team playing against an Italy XV, won 68-11; [3] in 1983, McBain debuted for Australia, also against Italy, at Rovigo, won 29-7. He also took part at the 1987 Rugby World Cup where he played only the pool stage match against Japan, and played his last international match two years later, against the British Lions in tour. After retiring from playing in 1990, [4] he coached minor teams, until in 2001, when he received his first professional rugby role, as coach of the Queensland Reds, Super Rugby franchise from Queensland: he coached he team for two years, then, McBain returned to coach youth teams and regional teams, until 2006, when he decided to retire also from the coaching career [5] and focus on his activities.

Arthur Henry "Artie" Beetson OAM was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. He represented Australia, New South Wales and Queensland all between 1964 to 1981. His main position was at prop. Simon Paul Poidevin is a former Australian rugby union player. Poidevin is married to Robin Fahlstrom ( 1995-present) and has three sons, Jean-Luc(born 21.07.96), Christian & Gabriel Poidevin made his Test debut for Australia against Fiji during the 1980 tour of Fiji. He was a member of the Wallabies side that defeated New Zealand 2–1 in the 1980 Bledisloe Cup series. He toured with the Eighth Wallabies for the 1984 Australia rugby union tour of Britain and Ireland that won rugby union's "grand slam", the first Australian side to defeat all four home nations, England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, on a tour. He made his debut as captain of the Wallabies in a two-Test series against Argentina in 1986, substituting for the absent Andrew Slack. He was a member of the Wallabies on the 1986 Australia rugby union tour of New Zealand that beat the New Zealand 2–1, one of five international teams and second Australian team to win a Test series in New Zealand. During the 1987 Rugby World Cup, he overtook Peter Johnson as Australia's most capped Test player against Japan, captaining the Wallabies for the third time in his 43rd cap. He captained the Wallabies on a fourth and final occasion on the 1987 Australia rugby union tour of Argentina before injury ended his tour prematurely. In 1988, he briefly retired from international rugby, reversing his decision 42 days later ahead of the 1988 Bledisloe Cup series. Following this series, Poidevin continued to make sporadic appearances for the Wallabies, which included a return to the Australian side for the single 1989 Bledisloe Cup Test. After making himself unavailable for the 1990 Australia rugby union tour of New Zealand, he returned to the Australian national squad for the 1991 season. Poidevin was a member of the Wallabies that won the 1991 Rugby World Cup, after which he retired from international rugby union.

Lote Tuqiri former Australia (dual-code) & Fiji international rugby league footballer

Lote Daulako Tuqiri is a former professional dual-code rugby footballer who primarily played as a winger across both codes. He represented Australia in both rugby league and rugby union, and Fiji in rugby league. Tuqiri first rose to prominence as a professional rugby league footballer for the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Maroons, as well as the Fiji and Australia national sides. He was therefore a high-profile signing for rugby union in 2002, winning 67 caps for Australia and being a part of their 2003 and 2007 World Cup squads. He played rugby union for the Waratahs in the Super 14 and Leicester Tigers in England in season 2009–10. Tuqiri's contract with the Australian Rugby Union was terminated on 1 July 2009. No immediate reason was given, and Tuqiri returned to rugby league in 2010, playing for the Wests Tigers of the NRL. In September 2013, he signed a short-term contract with Irish rugby union giants, Leinster to play in the Pro12 in a three-month deal. Just 6 weeks out from the 2014 NRL season, Tuqiri signed with his third NRL club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, on a one-year deal.
