Mark W. Pawelek (born August 18,1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher.
He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 1st round (20th overall pick) round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft. [1] Pawelek attended Springville High School and signed with the Cubs and received a $1.75 million signing bonus instead of accepting a scholarship offer to play college baseball at Arizona State University. [2] He played in the Cubs minor league system from 2005 to 2009,and never reached the major leagues. [2] In 2010,he played independent baseball for the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League. Pawelek played for Team Netherlands in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. [3]
Alexander Scott Gonzalez is an American former Major League Baseball infielder,who spent the majority of his 13-year career with the Toronto Blue Jays. Gonzalez established a career-high with 20 home runs for the Chicago Cubs in 2003 and hit 20 or more doubles eight times. At Killian High School in Miami,Florida,Gonzalez was an All-State pick in baseball as a senior. He is Cuban-American and was nicknamed "Gonzo" in order to tell the difference between him and the other Alex Gonzalez,who signed with the Blue Jays on November 26,2009;coincidentally,they would face each other in the 2003 National League Championship Series between the Marlins and Cubs.
Michael Brooks Kieschnick is an American former professional baseball left fielder and pitcher. The only player to win the Dick Howser Trophy twice,he is a College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) during six seasons between 1996 and 2004,primarily with the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers. He batted left-handed but threw right-handed. During the initial part of his major league career,he was exclusively a position player;for his final two seasons in the big leagues,he was used primarily as a relief pitcher who also occasionally served as an outfielder and pinch hitter.
