Tyrone Vontrace Griffin (born September 5, 1967) is an American former professional baseball second baseman. He played in minor league baseball and in international competition for the United States national baseball team.
Griffin attended C. Leon King High School and the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). At Georgia Tech, Griffin was named an All-ACC second baseman [1] and the Most Valuable Player of the 1988 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament. [2]
Griffin was part of the United States national baseball team competing in the 1987 Pan American Games [1] and 1988 Summer Olympics. [3]
The Chicago Cubs drafted Griffin in the first round (9th overall) of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his professional debut with the Peoria Chiefs of the Class-A Midwest League in 1989, and was promoted to the Charlotte Knights of the Class-AA Southern League that year. Baseball America rated Griffin the 22nd best prospect in baseball prior to the 1990 season. He split the 1990 and 1991 seasons between the Winston-Salem Spirits of the Class-A Advanced Carolina League and Charlotte.
The Cubs traded Griffin to the Cincinnati Reds for Scott Bryant after the 1991 season. [4] The Reds assigned Griffin to their Southern League affiliate, the Chattanooga Lookouts. The Reds released him after the season, and Griffin joined the independent Northern League, where he played for the Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks in 1993 and the Sioux City Explorers in 1993. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and played for the Arkansas Travelers in the Class-AA Texas League in 1995. He returned to independent baseball in 1996 and 1997, playing for the Grand Forks Varmints of the Prairie League.
Octavio Víctor "Cookie" Rojas Rivas, is a Cuban-American former professional baseball player, coach, manager and current television sports presenter. He played in Major League Baseball as a second baseman and outfielder from 1962 to 1977, most prominently for the Philadelphia Phillies where he first became an All-Star player, and later with the Kansas City Royals where his veteran experience and leadership played an integral role in helping the young Royals franchise develop into a championship team.
Hiram Gabriel Bithorn Sosa was a professional right-handed pitcher who became the first baseball player from Puerto Rico to play in Major League Baseball.
Carlos Obed Ortiz Baerga is a Puerto Rican former Major League Baseball player. Baerga was known for his superb hitting abilities during his first stint with the Cleveland Indians in the early-to-mid-1990s, accumulating impressive batting statistics, earning three All-Star appearances, two Silver Slugger Awards, and making key contributions to the Indians' 1995 postseason run. He was considered one of Major League Baseball's hardest-hitting middle infielders by 1995 with his superb bat speed and switch-hitting power. After spending most of his career as a second baseman, he was used at various positions late in his career. Baerga was elected into the Indians Hall of Fame in 2013.

In 1964, he won 19 games (19–9) and pitched 4 shutouts for the Chicago White Sox. He was selected for the Major League All-Star Baseball game in 1963 and 1964.

Carmelo Martínez Salgado is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball player who has been a member of the Chicago Cubs organization since 1997. He played all or part of nine seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily as a first baseman and outfielder, from 1983 to 1991. He also played one season in Japan for the Orix BlueWave in 1992. He is the cousin of Edgar Martínez.
Michael Ken-Wai Lum is an American former professional baseball outfielder and first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and Chicago Cubs, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yokohama Taiyo Whales. Lum became the first American of Japanese ancestry to play in MLB. He currently serves as the hitting coach with the GCL Pirates.

He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1973 and 1982 for four different teams, and played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in 1983. Listed at 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) and 170 pounds (77 kg), he batted and threw right-handed. He is also known by his nickname Heity.
