Mark W. Stiles (born November 3,1948) is an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 21st district in the Texas House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. [1] [2] The Mark Stiles Unit is named after him.
Reagan County is a county on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census,its population was 3,385. The county seat is Big Lake. The county is named after John Henninger Reagan (1818-1905),who was the postmaster general of the Confederate States and also a U.S. senator,U.S. representative,and first chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas.
The Portland Fire were a professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) based in Portland,Oregon that joined the league in 2000 as the counterpart to the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. Jackie Marie Stiles is an American college basketball coach who was formerly an assistant coach for the University of Oklahoma women's basketball team and at Missouri State University. Stiles set several scoring records while playing shooting guard in college and was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
Norbert Peter Stiles was an English footballer and manager. He played for England for five years,winning 28 caps and scoring one goal. He played every minute of England's victorious 1966 FIFA World Cup campaign. In the semi-final of that tournament against Portugal,he was given the job of marking the prolific Eusébio. His tough performance resulted in Eusébio being practically nullified for the entire game. Stiles also played in the final,which England won 4–2 against West Germany. His post-match dance on the Wembley pitch,holding the World Cup trophy in one hand and his false teeth in the other,was widely broadcast.
Ezra Stiles College is one of the fourteen residential colleges at Yale University,built in 1961 and designed by Eero Saarinen. It is often simply called "Stiles," despite an early-1990s crusade by then-master Traugott Lawler to preserve the use of the full name in everyday speech. The College is named after Ezra Stiles,the seventh President of Yale. Architecturally,it is known for its lack of right angles between walls in the living areas. It sits next to Morse College.

As the only town in the area when Reagan County was established in 1903,Stiles was made the county seat. The unit,located along Farm to Market Road 3514,is 4 miles (6.4 km) southeast of downtown Beaumont. The approximately 776 acres (314 ha) unit is co-located with the Gist Unit and the LeBlanc Unit.

The unit,on a 20,518 acres (8,303 ha) plot of land,is co-located with Beto,Gurney,Michael,and Powledge units. With a capacity of 4,139 inmates,Coffield is the TDCJ's largest prison. Coffield opened in June 1965.

Bill Downing a.k.a. William F. Downing was a notorious outlaw during the Wild West era in Arizona. Downing had fled from the Texas Rangers posse who was after him when he came to Arizona. In Arizona,he was involved in the killing of William S. “Slim”Traynor and in various train robberies including the robbery of the Train Depot in the town of Cochise. Downing was so unpopular that even members of his gang couldn't stand him.
