Nelson Marshall Cooke (born 4 March 1938) was an Australian retired politician. Born in Brisbane,he was educated at the University of Queensland before becoming a barrister. In 1972,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Petrie. He was not re-endorsed by the party for the 1974 election,being overlooked in favour of Redcliffe Deputy Mayor John Hodges. Cooke retired from politics,returning to law. [1]

Frank Liddell was an Australian politician. Born in Maitland,New South Wales,he was educated at Sydney Grammar School and subsequently attended the University of Edinburgh. He returned as a doctor to Maitland,and was elected to West Maitland Council. In 1903,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Free Trade Party member for Hunter,succeeding Prime Minister Edmund Barton,who had retired. He held the seat until 1910,when he was defeated by future Labor leader Matthew Charlton. Liddell subsequently retired from politics and returned to medicine,practicing in Maitland and Hornsby. He died in 1939.
Robert Hodges Horne is a former Australian politician. Born in Newcastle,New South Wales,he attended the University of Newcastle before becoming a teacher. He served on Dungog Shire Council from 1987 to 1990 and Port Stephens Council from 1991 to 1993. In 1993 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Paterson. He was defeated in 1996 by Liberal candidate Bob Baldwin,but defeated Baldwin in 1998. After his defeat by Baldwin in 2001,Horne retired from politics.
Frank Lionel O'Keefe,AM was an Australian politician. Born in Gunnedah,New South Wales,he attended state schools before becoming a farm machinery distributor and oil merchant. He was mayor of Gunnedah Shire Council for 18 years,and also served on Namoi Valley County Council. In 1961 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Liverpool Plains,representing the Country Party;he transferred to Upper Hunter in 1962,which he held until 1969. In that year he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Paterson. He held the seat until its abolition in 1984,at which time he retired. O'Keefe died in 1989.
Alfred Hugh Beresford Conroy was an Australian politician. Born in Winchelsea,Victoria,he was educated at Hawthorn Grammar School in Melbourne. Becoming a bank clerk and surveyor,he moved to Goulburn in New South Wales in 1883. In 1893 he became a barrister,and he was an alderman on Goulburn Council. In 1901,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the inaugural member for Werriwa,representing the Free Trade Party. In 1906,he was defeated by Labor candidate David Hall,but in 1913 he was returned to the Parliament,again as the member for Werriwa but this time representing the Commonwealth Liberal Party. He was defeated again in 1914,and retired,dying in 1920.
George Alexander Cruickshank was an Australian politician. Born near Dubbo,New South Wales,he attended Collegiate School in Bathurst,and was a grazier in northern New South Wales from 1878. In 1889 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the member for Inverell,a position he held until 1898. In the first federal election in 1901,Cruickshank was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as a Protectionist,representing the seat of Gwydir. He retired in 1903,and died in 1904.
Laurence John Failes was an Australian politician. Born in Coonabarabran,New South Wales,he attended state schools and then Hawkesbury Agricultural College before becoming a farmer at Bugaldie and then a businessman at Coonabarabran. He served in World War II 1942–45.
Stephen Cairfield Dubois is an Australian retired politician. Born in Vanuatu,he was the legislative assistant to Labor MP Bill Morrison. In 1984,Morrison retired,and Dubois succeeded him in the seat of St George in the Australian House of Representatives,also representing the Labor Party. He held the seat until its abolition in 1993,at which time he retired after losing a preselection contest for the new seat of Watson to Leo McLeay who was then the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Ewen Daniel Mackinnon was an Australian politician. The son of state MLA Donald Mackinnon,he was born in Melbourne and educated at Geelong Grammar School and then attended Oxford University. He returned to Australia as a grazier at Linton before becoming a company director and serving in the military 1938–43. In 1949,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal for Wannon,but he was defeated in 1951. In 1953 he returned to the House as the member for Corangamite,having been elected in the by-election that followed the death of Allan McDonald. In 1966,Mackinnon retired from politics and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
Ewen Colin Cameron is a retired Australian politician. Born in Melbourne,he had been a farmer and member of Euroa Shire Council before entering federal politics. In 1977,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Indi,defeating Mac Holten,a member of the Liberals' Coalition partner the Country Party. He held the seat until his retirement in 1993.

Frank Courtnay was an Australian politician. Born in Melbourne,he was educated at state schools and then the Working Men's College before becoming a dairy farmer and later a plumber. He was Victorian and then national secretary of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees Union of Australia. In 1958,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Darebin. He held Darebin until its abolition in 1969,at which point he retired. Courtnay died in 1980.
Robert Harper was an Australian politician. Born in Glasgow,Scotland,he was educated at Glasgow Academy and migrated to Australia in 1856,becoming a tea and coffee merchant and a pastoralist. In 1879,he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for West Bourke;he was defeated in 1880,but in 1882 returned to the Assembly as the member for East Bourke. He was defeated again in 1889,but was returned as member for East Bourke 1891–97. In the first federal election in 1901,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Protectionist member for Mernda. He joined the Commonwealth Liberal Party when it was formed out of the fusion of the Protectionists and the Anti-Socialists. Harper's seat of Mernda was abolished in 1913,and he retired. He died in 1919.
Garrie David Gibson is an Australian retired politician and ex CEO of RSL clubs Australia. Born in Brisbane,he was educated at the University of Queensland and the North Brisbane College of Advanced Education before becoming a primary teacher. He was an organiser with the Queensland Teachers Union before his election to the Australian House of Representatives in 1990 as the Labor member for Moreton. His election was the first time the Labor Party had ever won the seat,which has existed since Federation,although independent James Wilkinson sat as a Labor member from 1904–1906. Gibson held the seat until his defeat in 1996.

Melville Harold "Mel" Bungey is an Australian retired politician. Born in Gnowangerup,Western Australia,he was educated at Wesley College,Perth and the University of Western Australia before becoming a farmer. Later,he was vice-president of the Wool Section in the Farmers' Union of Western Australia. In 1974,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Canning,defeating the sitting member,John Hallett of the Country Party. He held the seat until his defeat in 1983 by Labor candidate Wendy Fatin.
John Coates is an Australian retired politician. Born in Melbourne,he was educated at the University of Sydney,after which he became a biochemist at the University of Tasmania. In 1972,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Denison,defeating sitting Liberal MP Robert Solomon. He was defeated by Liberal candidate Michael Hodgman in 1975,but in 1980 returned to politics when he was elected to the Senate. He remained a Senator until he resigned his place on 20 August 1996,six months after the federal election that had removed Labor from power.
Albert David Reid,MC was an Australian politician. Born in Murrumburrah,New South Wales,he was educated at state schools before becoming a farmer and grazier at Crowther. He sat on Murrumburrah Shire Council before serving in the military in 1914. He was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry at Beersheeba in October 1917.
Joseph Alfred Cooke was an Australian politician. Born in Western Australia,he was educated at state schools before becoming a railways officer,rising to become President of the Railway Officers' Union. In 1946,he was elected to the Australian Senate as a Labor Senator for Western Australia. Defeated in 1951,he was re-appointed in 1952 after the death of Labor Senator Richard Nash. He held the seat until his defeat in 1964,when he was demoted to third place on the ballot paper to make way for Western Australian Labor Party Vice-President John Wheeldon. Cooke died in 1981.
