Martin Schwalb (born 4 May 1963) is a former West German handball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He currently coaches HC Erlangen.
In 2013 he led his team to its first win of the EHF Champions League.
In 1984 he was a member of the West German handball team which won the silver medal. He played all six matches and scored nine goals. He and all the other players of the German Handballteam were awarded with the Silver Laurel Leaf, Germany's highrst sportaward. [1]
Twelve years later he was part of the German team which finished seventh. He played all six matches and scored 23 goals.
Maricel Voinea is a retired Romanian team handball player and coach. He played 263 matches for the national team, scoring 706 goals and winning bronze medals at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics and 1990 World Championships. At the club level he was part of HC Minaur in Baia Mare (1977–1989), winning the EHF Cup in 1985 and 1988. He later joined the Spanish club Avidesa Valencia (1989–1992), and eventually moved on to Germany, where he competed for SG Leutershausen (1992–1994) and HSG Nordhorn (1994–1998).

He has been a member of the Poland men's national handball team in 1981–1994 and Germany men's national handball team in 1997–2000, a participant of the Olympic Games Sydney 2000, five-time Polish Champion, and former head coach of Poland. He has been one of the best handball player in the history of Polish handball. Between 2014 and 2018 he was a Member of the European Parliament for the Polish Civic Platform. In 2018, he was elected as Mayor of Kielce, having run from his own committee with the endorsement of the Civic Platform.

In 2000, a panel from the International Handball Federation and sports journalists named her the best female handball player of the 20th century.
