Massimo Barbolini (born 29 August 1964) is an Italian volleyball coach. He is coach of Turkey women's national volleyball team, and Galatasaray SK. [1] Coaching Italy women's national volleyball team, he has won the 2007 and 2009 Women's European Volleyball Championship.
Born in Modena, as a boy he played volleyball as setter but was forced to retired from volleyball due to a serious injury when he was 20 years old. He soon become assistant coach of Julio Velasco at Panini Modena then in 1989 he was named coach of Sanyo Agrigento. With the Sicilian team he reached the Italian serie A1 (first division) then he trained Modena Volley.
In 1993 he was named coach of Latte Rugiada Matera, his first assignment in woman volleyball. With that team he won two Italian championship and two Italy Cup a European Supercup and a European Champions League. After a year with Gierre Roma, he was named coach of Despar Sirio of Perugia. With the Deapar Sirio, which he trained from 1997/1998 to 2006/2007, he won 3 Italian championship (2003, 2005 and 2007), a European Champions League (2006) and a European Cup Winner's Cup, two CEV Cups, as well as 4 Italy Cup (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007).
In the August 2006, after the firing of Marco Bonitta from Italy women's national volleyball team, Barbolini led the team in the World Championship to the 4th place.
In summer 2007 the Italy women's national volleyball team arrived third at Grand Prix and won its first European Championship. In November 2007 Barbolini's team also won the 2007 Volleyball World Cup. At 2008 summer olympics the Italian team managed by Barbolini was defeated by the USA at the quarter-final match.
In 2009 he led the Italian woman volleyball national team to the victory at European championship. In 2011 he led the Italian national team to the victory of 2011 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Cup

Lorenzo Bernardi is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player, a silver medallist at the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, two–time World Champion, and a two–time European Champion.
Andrea Giani is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player who scored numerous successes in the 1990s, including three World Championships with his national team. He is considered one of the best volleyball players ever. He was an all-rounder able to play both as outside hitter and as middle blocker, but he played several times as opposite too.

Modena Volley is a professional volleyball team based in Modena, Italy. It has played in the highest level of the Italian Volleyball League without interruption since 1968. It is the most successful Italian club, having won the national league twelve times and the national cup as well. The club is one of the most prominent and prestigious in Europe too, having won thirteen European trophies including four CEV Champions League.
The Italy women's national volleyball team is governed by the Federazione Italiana Pallavolo (FIPAV). The team's biggest victories were the gold medal at the 2002 FIVB Women's World Championship, being the first team to break the domination of Russia, Cuba, China and Japan, and the 2007 and the 2011 World Cup, winning 21 out of the 22 matches in both tournaments.
Dorota Świeniewicz is a retired Polish volleyball player who was a member of Poland women's national volleyball team from 1991 to 2009. She was a double European Champion, Polish Champion, and Italian Champion.
Julio Velasco is an Argentine former professional volleyball player and coach. He's had Italian citizenship obtained in 1992. Velasco was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2005. Velasco currently serves as a sports director for the Italian Volleyball Federation.
Mirka Francia Vasconcelos, more commonly known as Mirka Francia, is a Cuban-Italian retired volleyball player who won two Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. At 1.84 m (6 ft) tall, she played as a middle blocker before transitioning to an outside hitter later in her career.
Taismary Agüero Leiva is a Cuban-born Italian volleyball player. She is the only player to have represented two women's national volleyball teams that won major titles.
Maja Ognjenović is a Serbian professional volleyball player of the Serbia women's national volleyball team. Simona Gioli is a retired volleyball player from Italy. Currently, she plays for Galatasaray in Turkey. Gioli was a member of the Women's National Team that won the gold medal at the 2007 European Championship in Belgium and Luxembourg. Gioli was named "Most Valuable Player and ""Best Blocker" at the 2007 FIVB Women's World Cup and 2009 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup. She was also awarded "MVP" at the 2006-07 CEV Cup won by her team Sirio Perugia. She won the 2007–08 CEV Indesit Champions League with Sirio Perugia and also was individually awarded "Most Valuable Player".
Hélia Rogério de Souza, nicknamed Fofão, is a retired Brazilian female volleyball player who competed for her country's national team in five consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1992. She won a gold medal in 2008 and twice won a bronze medal, in 1996 and 2000. She also claimed the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games.

She won the Best Server award of the 2013–14 CEV Champions League and won the title with the Russian club Dinamo Kazan.
Giovanni Guidetti is an Italian volleyball coach. He is the current coach for Serbia women's national volleyball team He's been coaching Turkish team Vakıfbank Spor Kulübü since 2008. He coached the Turkey women's national team between 2017 and 2022.
