Matt Keating (born 6 September 1986) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a hooker. He played 130 games for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL between 2008 and 2013. [2]
He is the older brother of the rugby league player; Kris Keating.
Keating made his first grade debut for the Parramatta Eels in round 1 of the 2008 NRL season against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Keating took on the role of starting hooker as the replacement for Mark Riddell, who left the team to play in the Super League. He played in every game for Parramatta since making his debut in round 1 of 2008 to the 2009 NRL Grand Final (52 Consecutive first grade games). [3]
In June 2013, Keating was one of 12 Parramatta Eels players that were told that their futures at the club were uncertain by coach, Ricky Stuart. Keating played 24 games for Parramatta in the 2013 NRL season as the team finished last for a second consecutive year. He was then subsequently released by the club. [4] [5]
In October 2013, Keating signed with the Burleigh Bears for the 2014 Intrust Super Cup season. Keating retired at the end of the 2014 season and became a full-time Junior Development Officer with the Bears. [6]
Danny Buderus is an Australian rugby league commentator, coach and former professional footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. An Australian international and New South Wales State of Origin representative hooker, he played in the National Rugby League for Australian club, the Newcastle Knights, with whom he won a Dally M Medal, and the 2001 NRL Premiership before setting a new record for most games with the club. Buderus also played in the Super League for English club, the Leeds Rhinos, with whom he won 2011's Super League XVI. He set the record for most appearances as captain of the New South Wales State of Origin team at 15 and for most consecutive appearances for the side at 21. Buderus also played representative football for the Exiles and New South Wales Country. In 2015, he took up an interim coaching role with the Knights and continued as an assistant coach in 2016.
Kevin Kingston is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a hooker for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Parramatta Eels and the Penrith Panthers in the NRL in the 2000s and 2010s.
Timana James Aporo Tahu is an Australian former professional rugby league and rugby union footballer. He last played for Denver Stampede in the US PRO Rugby competition. A dual-code international representative three-quarter back for Australia's Kangaroos and then the Wallabies, he could also play second-row and played for New South Wales in State of Origin. Tahu started his career in the National Rugby League for the Newcastle Knights, with whom he won the 2001 NRL Premiership before moving to the Parramatta Eels. He then played for the New South Wales Waratahs in the Super Rugby competition. Tahu returned to the NRL with the Eels and then the Penrith Panthers before finishing his NRL career where it started with the Newcastle Knights.
Villiami Sione "Willie" Tonga, also known by the nickname of "Little Willie", is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Leigh Centurions in the Super League. An Australia international and Queensland State of Origin representative centre, he previously played for the Parramatta Eels, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, with whom he won the 2004 NRL Premiership, and the North Queensland Cowboys. He joined French club the Catalans Dragons in 2015 and signed a contract with the Centurions for 2016.
