Matthew Gould (born 7 January 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Altrincham. Born in England, he has been called up to the New Zealand national team.
In September 2014, after four appearances for Hawke's Bay United in the New Zealand Football Championship, [1] Gould signed for Cheltenham Town in EFL League Two. [2] After a loan spell at Bishop's Cleeve, [3] Gould signed for Livingston in 2015 but did not make an appearance for the first team. [4] [5] [6] In 2016 after loan spells at Stenhousemuir and Stourbridge, Gould signed on to stay with Stourbridge playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. [7] [8] Gould help the club make the third round of the FA Cup after beating Northampton Town, who at the time were four divisions higher than Stourbridge, 1–0. [9] [10] [11] They would lose to Wycombe Wanderers 2–1 in the next round. [12] [13] After playing in 138 games for the club, Gould left in 2018. [14] On 16 August 2020, Gould signed with Altrincham. [15] In 2021, after not appearing for Altrincham, Gould was loaned out to Nantwich Town for three months. [16] On the 23 May 2022, Gould signed an extension with Altrincham where he would not only try to compete for the starting spot, but hold a dual role as the first-teams keeper coach after completing his UEFA qualifications. [17]
In January 2022, he was named in the New Zealand national team senior squad for two matches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. [18] [19] [20]
Gould is the son of former Celtic player and current goalkeeping coach, Jonathan Gould, [21] nephew of Richard Gould [22] and grandson of former Wimbledon manager Bobby Gould. [2]

The 2007–08 season was Port Vale's 96th season of football in the English Football League, and fourth successive season in League One. Manager Martin Foyle left the club in September, and Lee Sinnott failed to improve results despite making several loan signings. Vale were also knocked out of the FA Cup at the Second Round by Southern Football League side Chasetown, a club five divisions below the Vale. Vale also had no luck in either the League Cup or the League Trophy, exiting both competitions at the first stage after a penalty shoot-out. Throughout the season the club saw a large turnover of players, as Sinnott attempted to build a squad of players of his own choosing to prepare for a promotion push the following season.
Benjamin Kevin Siegrist is a Swiss professional footballer, who plays in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic as a goalkeeper. He was a member of the Switzerland squad at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and went on to represent the Swiss Under-21s. In 2009, Siegrist was part of his nation's FIFA U-17 World Cup winning side, during which he also received the competition's inaugural Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper. During seven years in the Aston Villa Academy Siegrist undertook a series of short-term loans to English Football League and Conference sides. After a spell in the Swiss Super League with Vaduz, Siegrist signed for Scottish club Dundee United in 2018.
