Matthew Rose (born 4 May 1978 in Seaford, UK) is an English operatic bass.
Matthew Rose studied at Seaford College and the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia. [1] In 2003, Rose joined the Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. [2]
Rose was awarded the John Christie Prize at Glyndebourne in 2006. [3] Rose received the Independent Opera/Wigmore Hall Fellowship in 2007. [4] In June 2012 Rose was awarded the Critics Circle Award for Exceptional Young Talent. [5]

He has recorded with Sir Colin Davis (Berlioz L'enfance du Christ, Otello and a Child of our Time for LSO Live), Sir Charles Mackerras (Mozart Vespers and Schubert Mass in E flat with Dresden Staatskappelle) and Richard Hickox (Schubert Mass in E flat ); Ariadne auf Naxos with Sir Richard Armstrong, Rossini's Stabat Mater with LPO and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Tristan and Isolde and William Tell with Antonio Pappano, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Britten with Ilan Volkov from Glyndebourne, Billy Budd with Daniel Harding (winner Grammy award), Messiah with King's College, Cambridge (also on DVD) and a CD of Liszt songs with Iain Burnside. On DVD he can be seen in Carmen, Faust and Acis and Galatea from the Royal Opera House, Billy Budd and The Rake's Progress from Glyndebourne and Haydn's Creation with John Nelson and the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra. In 2013 he released his début solo recital disc, Schubert's Winterreise, with pianist Gary Matthewman, for Stone Records.

Ryland Davies was a Welsh operatic tenor who appeared internationally at leading opera houses and festivals. He focused on Mozart roles such as Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. He performed as Ferrando first with the Scottish Opera, then at the Glyndebourne Festival, and for his debuts at both the San Francisco Opera in 1970, and the Metropolitan Opera in 1975. His lyric tenor was also well suited to roles such as Rossini's Almaviva, Donizetti's Ernesto, Verdi's Fenton and Britten's Lysander. He later turned successfully to character roles, and performed at the Royal Opera House in London until 2015. He made many recordings, including videos of performances in Glyndebourne and at the Salzburg Festival. Parallel to his singing career, Davies was a voice teacher, from 1987 at the Royal Northern College of Music, also at the Royal College of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, and the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid.
Anthony John Elwyn Besch was an English opera and theatre director. As a young man he worked at Glyndebourne assisting the directors Carl Ebert and Günther Rennert. His first work as an opera director was for Welsh National Opera in 1954. Among other British companies with whom he worked were Opera North, D'Oyly Carte, The Royal Opera, the Aldeburgh Festival and Garsington Opera. He was most closely associated with English National Opera, Scottish Opera, and the New Opera Company.

Hervey Alan was an English operatic bass and voice teacher. During his career he sang leading roles with most of Great Britain's major opera institutions, including the Edinburgh Festival, the Glyndebourne Festival, the Royal Opera House, the Sadler's Wells Opera, and the Welsh National Opera. He is best known for creating the role of Mr. Redburn in the world premiere of Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd at the Royal Opera House, London, on 1 December 1951. Music critic Elizabeth Forbes wrote that his voice was "dark toned, resonant", and "especially effective as Zaccaria in Nabucco.

In November 2015 he made his debut at the San Francisco Opera as Tamino in Mozart's The Magic Flute. In December 2015 he was the tenor soloist in Mozart's Coronation Mass with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and in January 2016 he performed Belmonte in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. He sang Belmonte again at the Metropolitan Opera in May 2016.

John Longmuir is a Scottish-born Australian tenor. Known primarily for operatic roles, he is also in demand on the concert platform and has appeared as a judge on channel seven's music competition show 'All Together Now'. Noted for his "generous voice, bright ringing vocal quality and legato phrasing" His operatic studies took place at the Australian Opera Studio. In 2019 John received his first Helpmann Award nomination, for his role as the Captain, in Berg's Wozzeck, for Opera Australia.
