Matthew Samuda is a Jamaican politician from the Labour Party. [1] He is a member of the Senate of Jamaica and is Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Cabinet of Jamaica. [2]

In September 2024, he replaced Marsha Smith as the constituency chairman in Saint Ann North Eastern after winning a by-election. [3]

Goldeneye is the original name of novelist Ian Fleming's estate on Oracabessa Bay on the northern coastline of Jamaica. He bought 15 acres (6.1 ha) adjacent to the Golden Clouds estate in 1946 and built his home on the edge of a cliff overlooking a private beach. The three-bedroom structure was constructed from Fleming's sketch, fitted with wooden jalousie windows and a swimming pool. Fleming's visitors at Goldeneye included actors, musicians, and filmmakers, among others. As of 2010, the property operates as Goldeneye Hotel and Resort, consisting of Fleming's main house and several cottages, and it continues to host celebrities as resort guests.

He completed his education at the University of Ottawa and is currently the Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation with responsibility for Water, Works and Housing in Jamaica and previously the Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries and served in that position between 2007 and 2011.

Generation 2000 (G2K) is the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). It is a Center-Right political Youth Organization that was founded in 2000 by a group of young professionals that saw a need for professional politics in Jamaica. The organization was incorporated as a corporate non-profit body, with a board of directors chaired by Dr. David Panton in the year 2000. The current President of Generation 2000 is Ryan Strachan, a Stockbroker, who is a graduate of London Southbank University.
