Maurette Brown Clark (born 1966; [2] as Maurette Brown) is an American gospel musician. She started her solo music career in 1998 with the release of How I Feel on Verity Records. Her subsequent three album were released by Atlanta International Records, with 2002's By His Grace, 2007's The Dream and 2011's The Sound of Victory. They all charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Clark has also been a member of Richard Smallwood's group, Vision, since its inception in 1996

Early life

Clark was born on Long Island, New York [2] to musically inclined parents. [1] She started singing at four years of age and began singing lessons at six. [3] She sang during her high school and collegiate days before touring with other gospel musicians. [3]

Music career

Clark's solo music career began in 1998 with the release of How I Feel on August 25 by Verity Records, [4] which peaked on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart at #8. [5] Her next releases were with Atlanta International Records. She By His Grace (released August 6, 2002) [6] reached #12 on the Gospel Albums chart. [5] The Dream (released March 6, 2007) [7] reached #34. [5] The fourth album, The Sound of Victory (released November 1, 2011) [8] reached #6. [5] Cross Rhythms' rated her first release a six out of ten; and second, nine out of ten. [9]

Reverend Donald Raymond Vails, Jr., was an American gospel musician and pianist. He started his recorded music career in 1977, with the release, Donald Vails Choraleers on Savoy Records. He would release sixteen albums with two labels, Savoy Records and Sound of Gospel. Vails released five albums that charted on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart, He Promised a New Life in 1984 with Savoy Records, 1986's Yesterday, Today and Forever with Sounds of Gospel, 1987's Until the Rapture again with Sounds of Gospel, In Jesus Christ I Have Everything I Need in 1990 also with Sounds of Gospel, and 1994's A Sunday Morning Songbook with Savoy Records. The album, He Decided to Die, was a Grammy Award-nominated release, and it was certified as a gold album by the RIAA.

Douglas Lee Miller was an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1984, with the release of, I Still Love the Name Jesus, that was released by Atlanta International Records. This album along with five others placed on exclusively the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released albums with A&M Records, Light Records, Word Records, Atlanta International Records, and Rejoice Music Group.

Her second album, Live with the Southwest Louisiana Mass Choir, was released in 1992, and it was her breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. The third album, What a Time, came out in 1994, and this release charted on the aforementioned chart. She released, God Can Do It, in 1996, yet this failed to chart.

Minister Cedric LeVance Ford is an American gospel musician and leader of Worship Unlimited, currently based out of Houston, Texas because he is the music minister at Reflections of Christ Church. His first album, Featuring Visions: A Choral Ministry, was released by Muscle Shoals Records in 2000, and produced by Dorothy Norwood. He released, Created 2 Worship, with Tyscot Records in 2009, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart at number 34. He was nominated for a NAACP Theatre Award for his role in The Fabric of a Man by David E. Talbert.

Minister Nancey Jackson Johnson is an American gospel musician, and is currently the creative arts director and minister for Greater St. John M.E.R. that is located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her first album, Nancey Jackson, was released by Savoy Records in 1991. She released, Free , with Harmony Records in 1997, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums. The third album, Relationships, was released in 1999 with Harmony Records, and this charted upon the aforementioned chart.

Kimberly A. Stratton is an American gospel musician. Her first album, I'm in This Place, was released by Glorious Music in 1994, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. She released, Live in Chicago with the A.F.C. Choir, with Glorious Records in 1995. The third album, Almost Forgot to Worship, was released in 2007 with Kingdom Records.

Roy Keith Pringle is an American gospel musician and organist, who is the founder of Pentecostal Community Choir. His first album, "Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord", was released in 1979. He went on to release more albums with Savoy Records, Hopesong Records, Heartwarming Records, Muscle Shoals Records, Malaco Records, and Platinum Entertainment. Five of these albums would chart on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. He received a Grammy Award-nomination for the song "Call Him Up" that was on the 1980 album "True Victory".

Kelli Evon Williams-Malcolm is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Kelli Williams, was released by Sony Music Entertainment in 1995. The subsequent album, I Get Lifted, was released in 1998 by Word Records in association with Epic Records, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. She released, In the Myx, with the Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 2000.

LaShell Renee Griffin is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Free, was released by Epic Records in 2004. This was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon four charts, The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, R&B Albums, and Heatseekers Albums. She released two more subsequent albums, but they have not placed on any charts.
