Maxime Françoise Jean Giron (born 15 September 1994) is a French football player. He plays in Italy for Serie C Group C club Crotone. [1]

Club career

He made his Serie B debut for Avellino on 6 September 2015 in a game against Salernitana. [2]

On 25 January 2019, he returned to Bisceglie. [3]

On 9 January 2020 he signed with Serie C club Modena until the end of the 2019–20 season. [4] After one more season with Bisceglie ending with relegation, Giron successively spent the 2021–22 season with Palermo, being part of the lineup that won promotion to Serie B through playoffs. On 27 July 2022, he successively left Palermo to join recently-relegated Serie C club Crotone. [5] [6]

The 2019–20 Serie C was the sixth season of the unified Serie C division, the third tier of the Italian football league system. The season was scheduled to run from 24 August 2019 to 26 April 2020, however, on 9 March 2020, the Italian government halted the league until 3 April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. Serie C did not resume play on this date. On 18 May, it was announced that Italian football would be suspended until 14 June.

The 2020–21 season was Palermo Football Club's first season in Serie C, the third tier of Italian football, following promotion from Serie D during the 2019–20 season. Palermo returned to the third division after 19 years, having last played in Serie C1 in 2000–01.
